Can you bleed clutch without lifting car?

Featured Replies

Is it possible to load the clutch cylinder and bleed the clutch without lifting the car putting the car on blocks and just doing it by the top on the engine I can see the bleed nipple and the bleed screw by just leaning over the passenger side of the front fender I can see it under the transmission. Can you bleed it that way ???

Yes, it can probably be done from the top. Easier with two people though. The clutch isn't as sensitive to air bubbles as the brakes are. Get most of the air out. Make sure you have good clutch lever movement. Make sure it changes gears properly once it's running.

I do it without lifting the car. I turn the front wheels all the way to the left and reach under from the bottom behind the right front wheel to connect a tube and bottle of brake fluid and loosen the bleed valve. I use a speed bleeder valve so I can do it without an assistant.

I typically bleed a clutch like this. Should be able to do this on the ground, but i have never done it.
