Come on another coil? How can you determine this does not work if my car is cranking? October 23, 20231 yr comment_658527 If cranking is describing the engine turning over using the starter, the coil has nothing to do with the starter. The engine will turn over using the starter without any coil. October 23, 20231 yr comment_658528 Plenty of coils could work and start the car but you want the hottest coil you can run that will work with your distributor and ignition!! The hotter the coil is; the less fouling you will have!!! October 23, 20231 yr comment_658535 Please read the specifications for the system and get another coil. We are trying to help. The coil is the heart of the system for spark. Do some research and you’ll begin to understand the theory of operation. Dont really think its the stock resistor. I believe previous owner changed it. Nevertheless i found an old 3.0 ohms pertronix flamethower in my garage. Should i order a new one and a 3.0 ballast resistor?
