That coil looks pretty old what’s the history on it?

Bought in 2014. Car has always cranked and worked connected in such way.

Do yourself a favor and look at the spec requirements from pertronics and get yourself a new coil. Just my oppinion.

Come on another coil? How can you determine this does not work if my car is cranking?

If cranking is describing the engine turning over using the starter, the coil has nothing to do with the starter. The engine will turn over using the starter without any coil.

Plenty of coils could work and start the car but you want the hottest coil you can run that will work with your distributor and ignition!!

The hotter the coil is; the less fouling you will have!!!

Please read the specifications for the system and get another coil. We are trying to help. The coil is the heart of the system for spark. Do some research and you’ll begin to understand the theory of operation.

I have a 1.5 resistor and a 1.5 flamethrower coil installed. Dont really think its the stock resistor. I believe previous owner changed it. Nevertheless i found an old 3.0 ohms pertronix flamethower in my garage. Should i order a new one and a 3.0 ballast resistor?

The directions for the module will specify what coil to run. Does the pertronix in the dizzy have a model number on it?
