Floats need to sit correctly in the float bowls, otherwise they can stick against the sides of the bowls. Adjusting (bending) the hinge tab and/or a light touch with sandpaper on the float will fix that. If the valve isn't new it could have some gunk in it - fix with carb cleaner. The other answers are also correct.

I guess someone started messing with the float bowls in my 240z. Its a pitty as i never had this problem before. Whats the approach here? I do have a pair of float syncs i purchased during pandemic. Id like to fix this myself guided on your help.

Stick a red straw off a WD-40 spray can down in that overflowing vent bung. Try to get it bouncing up and down that way you know if the float is stuck. It could be that simple.

Ok. I was thinking of opening the float chamber and cleaning the needle and seats with carb cleaner.

It could be either issue, the valve not sealing up or the float not rising, check both.

Changed the needle valve and bent the ramp as it was not closing the valve. Should i bend it more?20260606_123841.jpg

Is the valves closing where you have it set now? That's the only way to know. Pictures are useless.

Valve is closing. No over flow at the moment.

My float sync instructions said 9/16"(14mm) from the top of the sync block to the fuel level in the tube.

Keep adjusting until that level is obtained or it will not idle/run correctly.

clarification

To set the needle valve you have to hold the lid the other way. Right side up. Put a tube on the intake and blow through it. Lift the float until the valve shuts off the air. You should have about .550" from the top of the float to the bottom of the lid

He's like alot of folks that bought from ztherapy. The SU video that I got shows upside down BUT that was with Grose jets that would hold the float. These new needle valves will only work right side up, no weight on them at all.
