Which Fuel Gas Cap for 71 Z?

Featured Replies

Aside from $100 ones. Are those cheap ones good enough? Thank you

Well there were no cheap alternatives. $82 for a stinking cap. I like the locking cap but it’s not perfect.. hips get soaked with fuel.

A nice pretty fresh zinc'd cap is pretty though!

Now to get a nice zinc'd lock ring and screws... B)

On the early series 1 '71 cars, I believe the gas caps were flat on top.  Correct?

We have covered this topic - in the archives somewhere.  This is a picture of Kats' early gas cap.  No flange on top and no chain.  We also covered the gas door knob.  Early, early ones were chromed plastic and locked in the vertical position.  There are two versions of the later metal chromed knobs which closed in the horizontal position.

Thank you for the info. Got an early. I’m never lucky with searching. Something for the future maybe.
