1971 240Z for parts!

Can you let me know what you want for the door spacer shims? The ones that go behind the hinges etc..? They are in the ziplock bag pictured below. I understand if you only want to sell them complete with the hinges though...If that's the case I may keep looking locally.IMAG2414_zpszrjtgqte.jpg

Also, I think as a general rule, the Series 2 cars started around vin # 20000.

Yep general rule indeed and only talking about HLS30 prefix cars. HS30's on the other hand appear to have started the transition to later style consoles between HS30 01428 and HS30 01694 but I'm yet to confirm this as 100% accurate. For the record we got the hand throttle all the way up until this change also. But were stuck with the AM radio until 74.

The shims may or may not be necessary for whoever buys the doors. If they need them they probably already have them. The shims are used to make the doors align properly and account for variations between the doors and body panels. I have had cars have one on each hinge, one on just one hinge and none. Seems to vary. My advice would be sell what you can, when you can

Yeah it's weird because my car had none on the driver side, but it could have very well been removed. The door sustained some minor damage and repairs (I found out when re-skinning it) and the alignment was changed (front of the door used to rub on the a-pillar). I've since improved the alignment a lot but need the front / upper area to come out a bit to align better with the front fender swage line. Ideally I'm looking for as many shims as I can get, better to have them and not need them, than the other way around.

Gav,

You could always make them. The pattern is pretty simple. We might make a drawing template and just put it in the download section

I have the pattern yes, but I need to find the right material and gauge metal. Do you know if they are made of alloy? If anyone can tell me the thickness I'll probably just order raw material to make more.

If I can find mine in the shop I can "mic" them for you. A template online would still be a good idea..

Alright guys, I'd love to move this stuff! I am most likely moving back to Tampa later this year, and I need to get all of the stuff out of my grandparents' shop. I am super busy lately with work and school, but if you're interested in anything or everything, just let me know and I'll workout a price.

Hi Stealth,

I'm in need of the following parts for my 72 240 Z, can you let me know if you have any of the following: if so, please pm me with price. I'm in Vegas for shipping info.

Looking for parts in good used working condition. Hope you can help!

1) Left front blinker full assembly (need lens in good shape) pigtail too if possible.

2) a/c control unit (interior) I have the functioning A/C unit, but would love the controls that mounts to left of the upper left console by the gear shift.

3) 240 horn pad and/ or the spring and mechanism behind it.

4) rubber grommets around inside of engine compartment, same for those inside the lower & upper rear hatch ( mine are really dried out)

5) Antenna assembly and motor working - Don't need the mast.

6) 1972 chrome wheels and/ or tires in good condition

7) Original SU carbs by chance?

8) White interior pieces ( rear area and the antenna access area... Don't want new, too white!)

9) rear hatch strut? Mine is ok, but kinda weak.

10) rear hatch louvers ( the no drill kind)

i think that's it for now. If you happen to have any of those items please let me know.

Have a persimmon 72 240 with white interior, so need to make sure that your 71 parts will work. Just let me know what you have, and I'll do the research.

Appreciate any assistance!
