Mark, Is the lip completly rolled back. I mean touching the inner panel? The reason Im asking is it might be hard to coat and prevent rust form developing. It could also trap dirt and keep moisture a lot longer.

I remember that from a friend who owned an old Holden LC Torana years ago. He rolled the lips and the cavity behind filled with dirt. That held the moisture and it rusted out in no time.

Would be a pity if that would happen.

You are still making good progress. That is good to see.

Yes, it is rolled back to the inner panel. The next step is epoxy primer, then seam sealer or fibreglass filler. Probably just the fibreglass filler because it is waterproof. The finished lip will be sealed and waterproofed. I am not too worried about moisture getting in there when I'm done.

my 2 cents. i think the seam sealer is the better of the 2. it will flex with the metal as where the fiberglass wont. if the metal moves at all, the fiberglass will eventually seperate from the metal and allow water in.

Hello Mark, somewhere else you sayd i want a set of these... see pictures..  Here in the Netherlands these are rare..  i got a set for sale. PM me if you got interest in them.

I'm following a little of your restoration. Keep up the good work. I'm restoring a 280zx from 1979, the first edition here in europe. A 2+2 SLICKTOP!

These are from a 260z euro.. but look exactly as the 280z? 280z were never imported to europe, we had to drive 260z till the end of 1978 :( , then came the s130 280zx.
