I don't know anything about the quality and fit of this custom fuel tank but I run across it when doing Tampa Craigslist searches. It looks very interesting and I thought you might also be interested.

Interesting. But the sending unit is on the top and mine is on the side. Unless they have a different style of sending unit that could be a problem. A little high end for my needs too I think.

New spindle pin puller design... look up his new content for his thread

Ahhhh. Yes, I saw that! Cool tool. So far my first one is 3/4's out... Not too bad yet.

Be careful if you try to drive them out. They are easily mushroomed. That is why pulling is a good method for removing them.

Finding that out as I go LOL

Oh well, I am very resourceful. I will use my sliding hammer to pull it out i think

If you hurry, http://www.car-part.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi

Edit : It didn't link  but there is a 76 tank there.

Sent them a message.... Hope they respond

My hat's off to you if you can save that sending unit.  Personally I'd start trolling ebay for a rebuilt or rebuildable replacement.

Ill be impressed if that unit comes back to life. Its looks pretty awful in those photos. It will be interesting to see.

The tank looks bad, but they generally clean up ok. Just takes a lot of work. Finding a replacement in better condition will be a challenge.
