Two free Z's

Featured Replies

Hi all -

I had a guy pull into my driveway last week when I was working on my 72, and he told me he had two Z's he was trying to get rid of. He was going to race them, but decided on Camaros instead. I went by yesterday to see what he had, and here it is:

1) a 72 240 POS - only good I could see on it was a complete motor and a decent hood. Otherwise, shot.

2) a 81 ( I think) 280ZX, with 5 speed.

Good news is they are both free, in Cumming, GA if anyone wants. I don't want them, but I told the man I'd put them up on the forum, so I have. I can go back and take pics, no problem, if anyone has interest.

Okay, not too far away. I would just have to have a plan to stash the 240, or see if he would part with the hood.

By the way, while the address says Gainesville, I live in NE Forsyth County.

The deal is that someone take both cars. I have a trailer and truck, I will give you the hood, I'll take the SU's, we can piece out the rest. I just don't have room to put anything more in my driveway.

Would love to come by and see your cars though. I don't have anything worth looking at yet.

Someone please get that 5 speed out of the ZX. There's no excuse for letting that go.

I will try. I just don't want to take them home. I already have two non-running Z's in the driveway, and I love my wife and kids more than the Zs

Sounds like a great deal. The '81 is a goldmine for donor parts with flat top pistons, P79 head, 5 speed, and a 3.90 FDR. The '72 is good for the SU's, pedal box, front crossmember, and other good parts even if the car is a POS.
