Speaking as a 56k modem user, I don't see that much of a difference in download speeds.

I actually prefer the new 6 image "stationary" gallery over the single "revolving" image display that is currently on the far right side. If I want to check out a thread before I check out an image in the gallery, I don't have to open a new window to do so. Otherwise, when I return to the main page the previous image is replaced.

How often do you have the new gallery changing images?

I agree with bambikiller, we have tabs at the top of the page to go to the gallery or forums, and my 56k only connects at 28k anyway .

I think the front page is a nicely organised page, it shouldn't be packed with to much content just links.

The gallery images (new ones) are updated every time someone sends in a new image. That block shows us the latest 6 that have been uploaded/approved.

Even though I'm on a modem now (56K) my connections are only at 26K but this Z site is one of the fastest loading sites that I frequent. I'd say I like it the way it is.
