What is that car on the lift in the background?

26thZ (Chris) started a thread about this 2 years ago http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?34565-Shin-Yoshikawa-Aluminum-S30-Chassis. It doesn't look like Shin's website has been updated since then (5/2009), so I wonder if he ever got past making the doors?

It's a Matra-Simca Bagheera.

Wow, this man has my respect!

His site mentions that he trained in Italy initially to gain the metal crafting skills then went on from there.

A great number of bicycle master builders had been hammering out great works too... along with furniture makers...Italy seems like it was a great choice for apprenticing to become an such an artisan. His site even alludes to gaining Carroll Shelby's respect of his aluminum skills.

His whole site is a fabulous read...especially with his photos and commentary.

i know Yoshikawa-san personally and hes a great person. His metal skills are amazing.

Any idea if this car went further than a door?
