Talk about Coincidences!

Man... this is crazy...

Well a while back while I was driving my Z, I was heading away from my house, and this guy in a '67 Firebird waves me down and gets me pulled over... as it turns out the "guy" was really a "kid" named Steve, probably only a few years older than me, and he told me to follow him back to his house... which I did (three blocks away)... where he promptly showed me his 1985 300ZX Turbo, pretty much mint condition too.

So, I thought, "how quaint is that?" ... two Z-owners within less than 10 minutes' walking distance from one another.

So the other day I'm driving home from an errand at the DMV, and a half-block from Steve's I see, parked, another Z... this one a 95, 96ish Black 300ZX Twin-turbo with T-tops... again in top-notch condition...

Interestingly enough, I bump into Steve an hour or so later, and ask him if he'd seen that car before... and he says that he knows the guy who owns it... Here's the kicker too... as it turns out Steve's dad's got an '04 350Z ... So I saw that car too (I was talkin' to him in his driveway for a bit while Steve struggled to get that old Firebird running again) ...

So I mean this is just gettin' crazy... 4 owners, 4 different Z-car generations, within 4 blocks of one another... Has anything like this happened to any of you guys? LOL

All we need is a 280ZX and we've got the full set! ROFL

I would say that with your current batting average that elusive 280ZX is around there somewhere and maybe you just have not been looking hard enough :classic:

Alternatively, if you are looking for it you will probably see one shortly after you give up and begin to think that it cannot possibly happen.

Not a z story, but my dad had an old beige Mitsubishi L300 van (dunno if you aussies got them, square box looking van forn the 80's)

Anyway he was out driving, not too far from home and pulled up to a mini roundabout (the ones the councils stick in a perfectly good T junction in the middle of the suburbs to try and slow traffic flow) and pulling up to the other two entries were 2 other beige Mitsubishi L300's. They all stopped and looked at each other, and couldn't quite believe it.

Ok, usually you can decipher if an item is mispelled, but this one has me stumped.

What the heck is a "late"?

E

It's an adjective masquerading as a noun.

It's also the results of people who have been IM'ing (instant messaging) too much over a long period of time (until they need help). You know, the same type of people who think taking the time to fill in all their information when they sign up with the club, is a waste of time. Proof reading is forbidden or left for someone else to do for them. The really noticable ones don't even waste time with capitalization or punctuation. They must speak their whole day in one long, exhausting sentence, without ceasing to take a breath, and eventually pass out due to lack of oxygen. ROFL

Do what I do when I come across one of these posts. I pass them by.

P.S. Bill, this isn't aimed at you. Consider it a rant.

I live in a residential community called "Monterey Bay Hights" in CA and the hill everyone lives on, used to be a golf course many years ago. Seriously, in this one community, there are five S30 Z cars! There's mine, this other guy's 240z who seriously lives several hundred yards away, another mid-restoration 240z a couple hundred yards up the hill from him, and another rusty daily driver 280z a little farther than that (he may have sold it recently though).

Then it gets better. At the top of the hill where all the larger houses are situated, theres a house with a guy who owns three 1st gen 300zx's and another 240z.

Interesting....

I've seen all gen Z's around where I live. Only once, then I never see them again LOL

I was out cruisin in mine one Beautiful Saturday and I happen to spot a black 280ZX in my rear view mirror. When we approached a red stop light, he quick gets over in the right lane to pull up along side of me. He signals me to roll down my window so i did and he shouts out to me "Awesome Z" Then I replied "Thanks man, back at ya"

Another time I was cruisin through a small town and I saw a brown 75-76 280Z and we both honked and waved at eachother. One other time when I was in my daily driver I saw a 77-78 Z like mine. Mint like mine getting on the highway. Also ran into a black 300ZX (Z31) at the gas pump and we BS'ed a bit. As far as Z32's are concearned, There all around if you keep your eyes open. There not that old. and plenty of 350Z's Not bad for living in Minnesota. :) My Z has a nice dry garage she sits in during the winter months. :)

So yeah, there out there.

Righto you lot,

I reckon my story'll beat the rest of you , ... hands down.

A few weeks back I was at the hardware store. When I came outside, there was a pretty blue MGB soft top parked next to my Toyota ute. While I was admiring the car, a couple of ladies came out of the shop and approached the MG.

We got to talking about classic cars and when I mentioned that I owned a 260Z, one lady said, "Is it that lovely goldy brown one I've seen ?". When I answered "yes", from my instantly increased height of ten feet, she asked me for my phone number. (No Will, not for THAT reason).

Lo and behold, that friday I get a phone call from the lady's husband, inviting me to join the members of the local MG car club on a run on the Sunday.

HOW'S THAT kiddies ??????? an MG car club INVITING a ZED to join them on a run.

Obviously wanted to add some CLASS to their group.

Unfortunately, I had to turn down their kind offer. "Precious" had her wheels off getting new rear bearings and UJ's on the half shafts. Never mind, there'll be other runs.

Rick.

:devious: :devious:

Just as a point of interest, when I ordered the parts, I enquired about the cost of new half shafts. Fortunately, I was sitting down when told they were $985.00 each.

For a moment there I thought your post was heading for "Dear Penthouse, I never thought this could happen to me, but a couple of ladies came out of the shop and approached...." ROFL
