Ok....I have looked and scraped and cleaned and still cannot find any identifying marks on the carbs of my stock, original 73 240. Can anyone tell me how to make the identification? Want to buy rebuild kits so I can get it started.

I am in the process of replacing the fuel hoses on my z and have found that trying to get at the hoses that come from the tank to the metal fuel tubing that runs the lenghth of the car is hard to get at. I do not have a lift so I have to do my work on my back with the car on blocks. I sort of doubt that dropping the fuel tank would ease this job, but maybe it would, I don't know, why I am asking here. So anyone one with any advice for this 240Z newbie? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Bart

I need to replace at the very least my fuel filler hose coming off the tank. I have been having trouble finding an online store that carries these parts. I have seen other peoples z's online with steal braided fuel hoses and lines but I can not seem to find these for sale either. Do any of you have a online store they might recomend? Thanx. Bart

i have a 260Z with what i was told was a '78 2.8L motor. it's setup with the twin hitachis from the 2.6L motor right now. the hitachis both need new floats and need to be rebuilt. the cost in parts is like $80 from autozone, so i was thinking of switching to webers. i'm also concerned about vapor lock issues since Arkansas has such a hot and humid summer/fall. i eventually want triple weber DCOEs (already have 1), but i didn't think this setup would be a good idea for a stock motor. i was considering the weber DGV conversion. i know i could get the ford manufactured DGVs (DGAV i think from the pinto) pretty cheaply around here. pierce offers a manifold and linkage kit, an…

I have a 1971 240 engine with triple Weber dcoe 40-18. Engine has standard cam(I was told) and headers. Upon acceleration from idle, the engine stalls momentarily, then will accelerate if I back off somewhat on the accelerator. If I press pedal all the way down, engine will continue to bog down and accelerate quite slowly. I am at 6500 feet altitude Starter jet = 100 F5 Accelerator pump jet = 45 Int. and discharge valve for accelerator circuit = 35 Main jets = 130 Air correction jets = 185 Idle jet = 45F9 Choke = ? Any suggestions on what is causing the problem or ways to diagnose the problem? Could a colortune be used to determine whether it is running rich or lean …

Ok, I am eyeing a set of these carbs, they came off of a L26, and they are on a cannon intake. My question is, Will they work good on l24 pretty much stock and will they be ok when this l24 is warmed over really soon? Need advice fast.

The problem you describe can be caused by many factors, not necesarily the carbs but that does sound favorite, You do not know the choke size, this should be 30mm if the rest of the engine is standard, The bigest thing that will affect the running is that you are trying to get more fuel mixture into the motor by running the webers, but what goes in has to come out and the best thing you can do is to get a good set of headers and also a head job! not increasing the valve size but matching the port size If you do not do this you will never get the advantage of the larger carbs, It is well worth the effort and then you can think about the jet size but what you have providing…

I purchased a set of Weber 40 DCOE triples from some guy on ebay who told me they'd been off a car for only 6 months - seeing what I found inside makes me believe that while they may indeed have only been off the car for 6months the car they were on must have been stationary for years.... Th box they arrived in had been sat on by UPS and I didn't see right away that the manifold had broken at one of the balance tubes - anyways nothing a bit of welding can't fix.... so ANYWAYS... here's my question take a look at the two detail shots below> One is of a particularly grungy main jet which I've since had soaking in carb cleaner for days on end and most of this crud has …

Not sure on the theory behind this but: Anyone ever tried fitting Flat slide throttle motorcycle carbs to the L6's before? im talking about the mikuni and keihin ones... Problems i can see are...powerband would be too high, and finding the right size carbs for our use? I know this sort of conversion is very popular on the 4age toyota 4 cylinders due to their instant throttle response, and very high flow. Top end power is generally comparable to a highly tuned FI system. Cost of these carbs is relatively cheap from what ive seen too!

I have a set of triple Delorto carbs that I am putting on my z and would like to know if the 4 psi from my pump is too much. I havent had any problems with the DGVs that are on it now.
