hey so ive been using my 72' Z for around half a year or so. everything was working pretty well, but then one of the cylinders stopped working and then I was lucky enough to have the car stop from going into gear. Luckily my dad was able to somehow get my car home in 1st gear. so basically my car is sitting in my driveway and I really need it fixed cause i cant keep using my parents cars and the school year is about to begin in a week. so if anyone could help with the car not going into gear it would be cool.

Hi all, I asked this before but didn't get an answer. Now I'm trying to decide whether it's worth $35, plus a delay, to replace one part. There's a check valve between the fuel/air separator and the carbon canister on my '78 Z. It's mounted near the fuel pump, and it ensures one-way airflow between the fuel tank system and the carbon canister. The problem is that mine passes air more easily in the reverse direction (towards the tank, in the direction it should actually block airflow) than in the forward direction (towards the canister). However, it does pass air in both directions. So is this thing actually important in any respect, or is it simply federally mandated …

I am currently refurbishing my 75 280z. Have recently replaced all bushings with poly and installed new struts and springs. I am trying to decide on new wheels and tires. The car will be driven primarily on the street (no racing) and I live in Colorado. Have heard that increasing to 15" or 16" wheels is a consideration. Thoughts?? Thanks

So, here's my story. I'm a 40 year old college student living off of my student loans in N.E. Ohio- and my only source of transportation is my 77 4-spd. manual Z coupe. Could I get through the winter w/studded snow tires on the rear, Yokohama's on the front, kitty litter in the trunk ? Or should I put my Z rehab money towards an 8 cyl. towncar? I'm a seasoned winter driver: semi-trucks/V.W.beetles/motorcycles(ya know).. I've heard that nomatter how good of driver you are- or think you are, that these are not drivable in snow.. any truth to that?

I royally screwed up my needles this weekend trying to remove them and set their height correctly. I can't find new ones anywhere for my 72 240z with a manual trans. Who sells em? I need em soon, my car is down until this gets resolved...

I found a bunch of brackets in a bin. Can anyone tell me what these are and, if it turns out I don't need them, does anyone want them?

I am installing a new Motor Sports fuse box(1242-11 Short pigtail) for my 1972 240z (8/71) for the second time (after original replacement I removed Sony radio and reinstalled the original radio). The first install was easy because I had the old fuse box and just replaced one wire at a time. I am now having trouble knowing how to reinstall. The two fuse box plugs are easy. It is the two separate wires that are bundled one on each side with the two plugs. The left side wire is white and seems to be the common for the bottom two left circuits. It has a bullet male connector. The other single wire (right side bundle) is blue/white with a female bullet connector. Motors…

Hi, I'm pretty new to the car scene and have yet to buy my first car and then wait two years to drive it but I've narrowed the choices down. I'm either going to pick the Datsun 240z or the 280z but don't have my mind straight on either one yet. I plan on buying one in fair condition and rebuilding the engine with an older friend who owns a 300zx and swapping everything out for more current models to ensure driving quality. But what are the pro's and con's of each car. I've heard the the 280 is heavier while the 240 is lighter and smoother to drive. Just give me a big pros and cons list of each car while being realistic, thanks.

hello I have a 76 280z with auto transmission and recently I been having problems going reverse as well as going forwarded. OK recently i just did a full tune up on the car everything was working fine till this morning. I started my car and the idle is good, when i was backing up i notice that when i step on the gas it would just rev and i wont go any where. So I put it on drive and the same thing happen. I have been feeling the lack of power when i drive it and first thing that came to my mind was maybe my cat went bad? what do you guys think? thanks in advance chris:
