The door striker on the driver's side of my 1973 240z need help. It's secured by one nut, the rest sheared off at some point in the car's history. Well, I decided to start working on it tonight and removed the one good nut then removed the striker and its component pieces. I see, however, that the assembly was screwed into something on the inside of the door frame. So do I need to remove that little dog-leg interior panel to get to all that hardware? What's the safest way to do that? Anyone have any pictures of what I can expect to see on the backside of that door frame? Any assistance on this is appreciated. S

I replaced a non-operational C/D player in my 73 with an original AM/FM radio. I'm guessing the "installer" used self tapping screws to hold the escutcheon plate on but it looks to me like the screw holes are threaded. What size do I need?

anyone have some tips for doing it quick. I got 3/4 of the firewall done including a small part of the tranny hump in 2 and a half hours and it is tedious boring work

I just got this car in January and since it only has 34,000 original miles, I'm wanting to bring it back to absolutely original condition (or as original as possible) so I switched back to a stock steering wheel that I refinished. Any idea what the Racemark is worth? I know they haven't been made in quite a while and I have no idea how long it's been on the car but it's in nearly perfect condition. It also has the adaptor hub and the Z horn button that worked when I took it off, last Saturday. It's period correct for the '75 I know, it's just not what I'm looking for with this car. I'm really not much of an Ebay'er and I'd really rather someone have it that is rebuil…

Hello all, I have a pair of seats from my '72 Z hanging out in the garage. They are quite beat up but i'm pretty sure everthing on them works. They are taking up too much space and I have decided I will not be using them in my project, so if anybody out there needs and parts im giving you guys a chance to speak up before they head to the dump. If anybody is interested in parts or whole, let me know and i can post some pictures. If you are, all i ask is the cost of shipping.

I have two questions regarding seats in a '72 240Z: 1. Can the seat bottoms or backs be swapped from driver's side to passenger's side? 2. Right now my passenger's seat has two brass grommets in the lumbar area, but the driver's side has none. Is this correct? Thanks for your input on this. Gary

I think that while the engine is out, I'll grab the speedometer and get the face off and see if I can brighten the odometer wheels. The wheels are kinda dirty and it's hard to read the numbers even during the daytime. The speedometer ring number could probably use a little brightening too. Has anyone tried this? I'm wondering if there are any kinds of cleaners that would help, or if there are any cleaners or solvents I should avoid using. I promise to leave the odometer wheels at the current values! :tapemouth it's already at 23,000 anyway :pirate:

I am trying to decide how I want to set my 240 up sterieo wise. I am not at all into the whole car system thing and mostly only listen to news radio, country station or my ipod. The PO had a aftermarket cd player installed with 2 6x9's installed on the rear deck in blocks of carpeted wood. The speakers look pretty stock like so I am leaning toward keeping them. Up front I have no other speakers so I was looking at those kick panals with built in speaker pods that someone on the site makes but may just run the wires to the kick panal and add speakers at a later date. My big debate is what to do with the head unit. A friend gave me a fancy sony head unit with a Ipod control…

Can anyone post pics of weather stripping on the S30 doors? The only piece's I have left on my doors are the very bottom, underneath, and the very top of the window channel that meets the body. I am missing the ones that wrap around the window channel (front and back) where the channel meets the door. And the one that sits just inside close to the dash and top door hinge. The one that is held in place with 3 rivets. Those pics would be appreciated. Thanks.
