Hi all, I picked up some used ZX cv half-shafts. However they're disassembled. Its obvious enough the longer half shaft goes on passenger side & shorter one on driver side since the diff itself is not centered on the car. But what about the ends that plug into the diff? Please confirm the longer one goes on driver side & shorter one on passenger side. Is that correct? Thanks -e

Okay here is my problem. I'm new to this board and did a whole bunch of searches for this bout couldn't find exactly what I am looking for. I have a 1978 280Z 2+2. It is an automatic and I am thinking about swapping in a 5spd. I found a 5spd from a 280Z coupe (Not a 2+2). I was wondering if the 5spd tranny from the coupe is the same size as my automatic? And if this will swap out with no problems? If the 5spd tranny is shorter than the automatic, the drveshaft won't reach the tranny, right? Also the drive shaft from the 280Z coupe will be too short also, right? I really appreciate any advice I can get. I am new to the Z world as I am only 18yrs and hav…

Greetings! I fairly recently purchased a '71 240z series 1. I am in need of a brake cable/ebrake. I checked underneath the car and the cable is snapped on the rear brakes. I am pretty sure the ebrake and brake cable for the rear brakes are the same cable correct? I am located in Southern Oregon. If anyone has this part I would be happy to purchase it as a reasonable price. Location is not really a factor. Regards, Brooks

Ok, I need some quick help identifying which Window Regulators are the same. I've been looking for a driver side window regulator for my 1975 280z. I know for sure that the 77-78 are different and that the 70-73 are different. So I have someone who has a set from a 74 260z and he also has a set from a 70-73 and he has confirmed that it has different mounting points. So is the 74-76 the same?? I'm having a real hard time finding these.

i just got my manual trans and r200 diff all set. car runs great. i kept the car for the sole purpose of putting a v8 in it. i wanted to put a lt1 or ls1. but i got this block and set of heads last night for free. from what ive read on the internet its a 390. it has a 3U crank with a bore of 4.05. the heads are factory ford D2TEAA. the block is empty. just has a crank shaft. its setup for hydraulic lifters. not sure if this would be a good one to use for the z or not? it has the 4 bolt holes for the motor mount. any input would be greatly appreciated... also will the r200 diff hold a v8?

I've been searching these forums and google to find a basic efi to carb "how to" type thing, but I must be missing it. I'm a beginner, so a point in the right direction towards a website or a basic checklist would help. My story is my head was warped off my 1978 280z, so I was given a decent head, e88, for a 1972 240z. I have it installed, finding out the fuel injected manifold won't fit, I've decided to use the parts I was also given to convert it to carbed, stock carbs and manifold, airbox. Do I need a new fuel pump or just a regulator? Do I need a different computer, or do carbs not use one? Is there anything else I need?

Ok I've been searching for hours. From what I can tell it appears that any 280z or 280 zx tranny except turbo will bolt right in my sons 74 260. I just want to be sure. I don't want to have to track down mounts or swap/modify driveshafts etc. The reason this came up is that the 4 spd. vibrates bad in 3rd and 4th and it is getting worse to the point that it can't be driven. It went downhill fast. Any help would be appreciated. Dave
