I just purchased the Energy Suspension rear control arm bushing kit. The ID for the metal sleeves for the outer control arm bushings is way too big allowing consideral lateral slop between the sleeve and the spindle pin. I called Energy Suspension and the technician I talked to said that they know that there is an engineering problem with the metal sleeves and that they are taking steps to correct it. If you run into this problem just call Energy Suspension and they will send you new metal sleeves. Cheers Miles

I see that Shox.com has koni shocks available for 240 Z. But I found threads on our site that seem to indicate they may need tweaking to fit>.Who knows more? are these gas struts? Im thinking of using them with the ST springs. I would like to avoid the height issues discussed here regarding gas struts. I know the konis are pricey though. Maybe I could do better with the illuminas, despite the height issue.

I want to upgrade my ancient performance spring strut package in my 71. I like the price of the Tockico spring/strut combo that is being sold on EBAY. But I have heard folks on this forum say the Tockico springs are progressive rate and maybe not the best for performance. I will be driving on backroads only, no autocross, but want good performance vs. smooth ride. I imagined the tockico package would be a good route because the pair were designed for each other. I have heard the Suspension Techniques are a good chice for springs. Would they be a good match for tockicos, wither the regular or adjutable Illuminas? Finally my old springs are yellow, I think they are suspens…

I am am STILL trying to decide on springs for the 71. Today I found out MSA no longer stocks their own lowering springs. I am intent on getting Non-progressive springs. OK so we had all agreed here last year that the Tockicos are progressive, even though they dont look like they are. Now the MSA rep on the phone today insisted the tockicos they have are NOT progressive. He says there are RED. He says the set is # 4PS5020 He quoted the fronts at 140 pounds, the rears at 165. What do yall think? I want decent handling, not bone jarring stiffness, but stiff is ok for my needs. I intend to get tockico HP shocks, probably from the shocks guy on ebay.

Since I have found out that MSA no longer carries their own non progressive springs, Im looking for feedback from the folks here who have ST or arizona springs on their cars. I am thinking of getting Tockico HP's and I want some feedback on what folks like, or don't like about those springs. I had heard some concerns with folks about the unpredicable handling with progressives like the tockico's or eibachs. I dont mind a stiff ride, but hopefully not buckboard stiff. This is for my 71, which is NOT a daily driver. Steve

Well, with the car sitting for so long the suspension was pretty shot. Are the struts and springs off of Black Dragon Auto any good? I am not sure what type I want right now, (more comfort, more performance or inbetween) but was curious to know if there was a brand/model to stay away from in the Black Dragon Auto mag.

ok i need new struts so bad its not funny. with my car in the air i can move the shaft by hand like a half inch. it feels like im driving on ice. so i went to the suspension shop and they want to put on some KYB's or Monroes. KYBs are 480 instaled with stock springs and Monroes are 460. So i talked with the guy that has a race shop down the street and he LOVES datsuns. He told me that KYBs and Monroes are junk. Even the adjustable Tokicos and GR2s are bad he said. He gave me the advice of Koni, Bilstien, of at worst KYB gas-a-just. I cant find them anywhere. I have looked everywhere. Where can i find them, please let me know ASAP. Thanks.

HI, I just got my solid diff mount. I was wondering if I can install it by just pulling down the front diff cross member. I did not want to pull it down and not be able to reinstall it cause the springs forced the lower A arms down. I do have it on jack stands. I figured this would be the easiest way to install it with out wrestling the whole diff out. Thanks Rob

I am putting my front end back together after powder coating and my memory has failed me again. The control arms have urethane bushings and they are made to offset the contol arm in the front crossmember. I can't remember if the offset is to the front or the rear of the crossmember.Any help would be appreciated!!!

Hi All After just having installed a set of Tokico shocks and new springs as well as replacing all the old rubber with new Neoprene, I now have a lot of squeaks and creaks coming from the rear suspension, just wondering if anyone knows if this is just due to the new bushes etc needing to bed in. Any help on finding out how to get hold of list of original paint numbers for the 73 240Z's would also be great! Appreciate any comments! Cheers Rob
