Outstanding car! It just screams rust free and many more years of ownership. Congratulations, you can always find room for a 240 no matter where you live.

I saw him posting some comments on BaT. Probably breaking a BaT rule but you could comment in one of the auctions that he comments in, with an @. Scroll down and you'll see his comments. https://bringatrailer.com/member/seandezart/

20 Years Since She Was Last Street Legal...
I got it running and driving back in May. Finally got it insured and new tags in June then took it down the street to fill it with gas. Today was the first day I really got it out and drove it...in all about 55 miles. She needs some tweaking to run better still though it was still really nice to be able to drive her again. This short video is in after I got back home. 20250726_125928.mp4

Does anyone have a good way of reaching @Sean Dezart at Z Story? I've emailed directly. I've PM'd on this site. Two months has past and no reply.

Also should note that it's called several different things around the internet. Valve guide, Guide - Rocker Valve, lash pad. Might help for searching. The part number works well though.

Here's some stuff. Not sure if they're showing the -Y7000 pads (Replaced By:) or the original part number. https://www.carpartsmanual.com/datsun/Z-1969-1978/engine-280z/camshaft-valve-mechanism/25 https://www.nissanpartsdeal.com/parts/nissan-valve-guide~13218-a3501.html

I think the flat bottom ones are for grinding down? They sent me .190 with my cam kit. I thinks that's a little thick and they say it's all they have. Won't know for sure until I use them so...probably never. 🤣🤣

Like these? What kind of problems has your machinist had with the flat bottomed pads? Not sure that the dimpled ones are actually "stock type" for an L28. Don't know. https://jdm-car-parts.com/products/kameari-performance-valve-lash-pads-for-nissan-l-engine https://datnissparts.com/stock-thickness-120-lash-pads-datsun-nissan-l4-l6-l16-l18-l20a-l20b-l24-l26-l28-13218-y7000/

Hey Gents I'm getting my Z engine restored update the cam to a more aggressive profile (regrind)The engines is pretty much done but I do need custom lash pads for this cam. My machinist has had issues with the flat bottom type lash pads and would prefer the stock type ones (the one with the little dimple on the bottom). Anyone know of a good vendor? I've used Lspecdatsun before, but the machinist is having issues getting what he needs. Thank you Regards Jan

Not bad for 1976 280Z survivor. Still has the splash shield and exhaust pipe heat shields. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1976-datsun-280z-106/

So many new things pop up on the internet now it's a surprise they haven't interviewed his coworkers who saw it happen. I just read a different article yesterday about him where he said he thought he should have switched to being a normal right-handed player. He started playing leftie, like Jimi Hendrix, and didn't think he could relearn everything so he just improvised with those prosthetic finger tips. I worked with a guy years ago, after his own accident, who did similar but cut off about half of all four. Said he didn't feel a thing, they were just gone. Metal shears are dangerous.

Hi @HusseinHolland, I was going through your build/garage/Volvo mods and saw this comment about Milkfab's racing silicone gasket. I had the exact same thing happened to me. No overtorquing. Mine split as well. I didn't want to invest another $30+, ended up with a good ol' cork glued to the valve cover with black RTV, no leaks. I did send my feedback to Milkfab (I bought other things from them in the past), but never heard back.
