Sydney Z Club Concours
Well Richard there is no accounting for the Goulburn weather, however we are hoping that in March it may be a bit cool in the evenings, but Ok in the day time. As you may appreciate, we are in drought in NSW and I suppose one of the easy ways to beat the drought is to organise an event such as the Nationals. Hopefully we will have plenty of water by then, if not we will all be in deep s@#t!!. Look forward to seeing you there. Cheers, Geoff. PS: Do you still have those 15 x 7 Challenge rims?

Sydney Z Club Concours
Well the Concours has come and gone and a great day was had by all!!. Although rain threatened, it was a fine day and we had 42 Z's ranging from 240 through to 350 with a good roll up of 300's from the 300Z Association. In addition we had about 18 1600's and 180B's and a couple of other Datsun/Nissan models which added up to a very good turn out overall. As well as the awards given by the Z club, the organisers of the Spring Fair which was the local Lions Club, also presented some awards with one of our member's 240Z winning an award for the best Classic Car at the show!. This was whilst competing against some very nice Mustangs and various other sports, classic and vintage cars Next up the Nationals Easter 2005!!

260Z inner tie rod ends
I don't know where you are located, but you could maybe try Stewart Wilkins in Sydney. Here is the link, check out his catalogue or give him a call. If he doesn't have them he may be able to point you in the right direction. He prepared the 240z that won the East African Safari Rally and what he doesn't know about Z's isn't worth knowing. http://www.swmotorsport.com/home.htm Cheers, g260

Tuning Carbs for Cam
DX, If you have a look at the carburation heading in this site it may assist you a bit. Even though he is running 40's instead of 45's, you may get a starting point. http://www.geocities.com/jasonparuta/ HTH. g260

Mags and dashboard info
Victor, Those wheels you have shown are Simmons (a great Australian product) B45's. Which are different to the Challenger wheel in your thumbnail. MickieB - The Simmons site is this, http://www.simmonswheel.com.au/wheelcare.html. You will find they are a bit more expensive than the Performance wheels, but they are a terrific modular wheel where you can specify different size rims. g260

Mags and dashboard info
The wheels in your pics in the gallery are a bit dark and I wasn't sure if they wre the ones you referred to. As you can see I have 14x7 Challengers with 3mm positive as road wheels on my 260 at the moment. However, I have some 15" Toyo RA1's on 15x6 at the moment for the track and would prefer 7". When you are going to sell your wheels send me a PM or Email as I may be interested.

2005 Z Nationals Nsw
Richard, We are working on the classes/classifications at the present time and should be able to get back to you in the not too distant future. As well we are clarifying whether people will need a CAMS licence or probably just a Wakefield licence which will be available on the day or at Registration on the Friday (approx. $30-35) valid for a year. 2005 Z Nationals Nsw
This is an early reminder for all 'downunder' Z owners that the 2005 Z Car Nationals are to be held on the Easter weekend of March 25, 26 & 27 at Goulburn, NSW. We are planning a great weekend with Registration on the Firday afternoon/evening, Concours to be held on Saturday in the town centre and a track day at the nearby Wakefield Park circuit on the Sunday followed by a presentation night and dinner back in town. http://www.wakefieldpark.com/site/frameset.cfm Further information will be sent out as we finalise arrangements or check our web site. http://www.zcarclub.com.au/. Accommodation has already been earmarked for the weekend through Goulburn Tourism. http://www.igoulburn.com/ Don't forget to mark it on the calender for next year.

July Fast Fours Mag
Actually 260DET you are correct, it is quite harsh when people haven't seen what the car was like prior to restoration. Most would have written the car off and whilst the end result may not suit some purists it has actually saved another Z ending up on the rust heap. It's a pity there wasn't a before and after shot in the article. I believe you have to admire the workmanship and commitment (and cost) to one persons expression in modernising a Z. As for the dash it is been blended like the rest of the car as an amalgamation of old and new technology and design and incorporated the main part of the Z dash with the speedo of the Skyline. g260

July Fast Fours Mag
Check out page 36 of the just released July edition of Fast Fours Magazine for an article on Sydney Z Car Club member Vince Harlor's immaculate 240Z with RB25 motor. (They needed a good 6 cylinder car to show up some of the 4's) http://www.fastfoursvip.com/default.aspx http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=7020&password=&sort=7&thecat=3095 It's a great article which our US friends will get to see as Fast Fours is to be sold over there from this issue. g260

Danish 260Z
Very nice 260 Winquist. What brand are the wheels, are they Panasports? and what make are the tyres, they look like a road legal race tyre.

Sydney Z Car Club?
Richard, We are in the process of updating the Sydney Z club website, however when I checked a short while ago it was up and running. If you look in the contacts section you will see a contact number for Richard Handley. He has sold the car to another club member, but should be able to tell you where he got the spoiler from. Geoff

Best car or car chase
I dunno if it counts as a car chase movie but you can't go past American Graffiti as an awesome car flick. Harrison Ford's worked '55 chev Bel Air is an awesome piece of work... and the lines... Toad "what have u got?" Harrison "more than you can handle"

Clutch Replacement Q's
Gav, I don't know about machining the flywheel, someone more mechanically minded will need to chime in here, however the bearing you are referring to in the flywheel or end of the crankshaft is the pilot bushing which fits into the end of the crankshaft. The end of the main drive shaft in the gearbox sits in this bush when the gearbox is installed. At one stage I was getting some noise from the gearbox when I had the clutch in and it turned out to be the piolt bush which I lightly greased when I changed the gearbox. geoff

Spring lengths
Steve, I have a 74 260 and as an example in the FSM it shows the std length of the coil springs as 15.98 inches (406mm) 9.5 coils. It does not specify different lengths for front and rear. At the same time my car is lowered and it is a bit lower at the front than the rear. Cheers, geoff
