  9. The other site is move to this site: http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Garage/6212/diffswap/diffswap.htm i called nissan dealer parts dept: and told me what i got is not R200, since its LSD it must be an R230. hi, this is what i got, i wonder how thru the statement in ebay is?: this is the picture: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33731&item=2416844742 this is the statement: This is a highly desirable viscous coupled posi traction (limited slip) differential unit. It was pulled from a wrecked 1992 300zx with only 18k on it. It has been stored since 1994 and I am cleaning out my garage. This unit is definitely a direct fit for all 300zx models from 1990 on and all 240sx cars(all years), but you should check to make sure it fits your application in any case. This may also work in the earlier Z cars which also have the R200 unit but I have not personally tried it. This is an excellent upgrade for a SR20DET powered 240sx. Paypal is preferred since it expedites the process. I can remove the insides for cheaper shipping or send the unit as shown. Positive feedback will be left for succesful transactions. Buyer pays actual shipping cost with no handling charge. Thanks.

  12. oops....by any chance does anybody know the difference between the 1989 300zx lsd from the 1990 300zx lsd.....the 89 picture (posted here) looks the same with the 90 that i have.
  13. hi, this must be one of my lucky days. we dont work every other friday. i decided to go to the junk yard. there i saw a 1990 300zx. wreck in front, motor is still there. trans is gone but the rear-end (differential) is still there. i move one wheel and look on the other side, hmm there moving in one direction. i am already excited...remove all the junck under the car and find a clean carpet..i remove the differential. this is how it looks like. looks like a r200 but the back cover has fin at the lower part. the stub on each side move in the same direction as the opposite side. it must be an LSD. my problem is can i install it in my 240z. it looks like the shaft are different. i took the mount, with it , just in case i will need it. it cost me $79.00. help.....what do i need... to install it on my 72 240z top of the diferential...38311 43M00 under the deferential... 14. my 72 hood is a little bit bang-up, so i decided to replace it. what year z can i use to replace it. i saw turbo hood at the wrecking yard and they look nice. will it fit? what year. thank you for all your help.
  15. i cut this statement from ebay: You are looking at a Subaru 3.700 LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL. Donor car was a 1987 Subaru RX turbo. This part will bolt into any Subaru with a 3.700 transfer case. I've heard that all you Datsun Z-car and 510 guys like to use these as well, though I don't know how much modification is required to use this in a Datsun. Item number # 2408552558
  16. :stupid: the reason why i am asking this question is i have a bad experience a couple of years back. i am driving a 67 chevy camaro then with a 6 months old imported ball joint (freeway 5) then all of a sudden the new ball joint was pulled-out of the socket....scary now that i have a 72 datsun i want to do it correct, does any body have any problem installing imported ball joint (made not in U.S. or Japan) the dealer balljoint is $103.78/pc?
  17. hi, do you have notes/link on how to modify 240 front brake using 280zx parts? thanks
  18. :stupid: is the front strut assembly (including brake) of an 81 280zx exchangeable with a 240z front assembly? (240z brakes seems not that strong).
  19. i am removing those air tubes that comes out of the exhaust manifold of my 72 240z. i need to plug those holes. will anyone kind enough to help me figure out the size of bolt that i need to plug those six thread holes? thanks , hf
  20. I am removing the air pump, and air tube on my 72 z exhaust manifold. does any body know the exact size and thread to plug the air tube hole on the exhaust manifold. thanks, hf
  21. i am not sure what to ask. i install a 280zx motor(P90A head/F54 block). the car overheated. i gues its because of the burst rubber hose but the mechanic said its because i use a wrong head gasket. My question is what year 280zx should i say and should i say it has turbo. i dont know.. i bought the head from a junk yard and i did not see a turbo on the car, and i bought the F54 short block from a Z-car person in glendale. The mechanic said that i need more holes on the gasket. what year should i say the motor is when the part store ask for the year of the car? help hardie
  22. hi everyone, i replace my 240z(72) motor with a 280z motor from an 83. it was very powerful motor compare to my dying 240 motor. i use it for 1 day, and unluckily i burst a water hose(old) and the motor overheated. head gasket is broken. i replace it (my first time). everything went smoothly except when i am about to install the sprocket and timing chain. it just wont reach the cam. i lift the sprocket with the cherry picker it wont go, i use a crowbar to left it , nothing move, i turned the crank to check if i have a kink down the crank, nothing , it turns ok. if you have done this before, or have an idea how i can install it without opening the whole front, please let me know. thank you so much, hf240z@yahoo.com
  23. help, i updated my 72 240z with a 83 280z turbo motor. accidentally the water hose, burst(old). so i am blessed with a broken head gasket. i replace the head gasket (this is my first time). everything went smooth except when i am installing the sprocket and timing chain....it just wont reach the cam. i am thinking there is a kink under neath, so i turn the crank, turns ok., i lift the sprocket with the cherry picker..no dice, i inserted 2 screw driver on the sprocket holes, it wont go a little higher. i am tired so here i am.... please let me hear ur suggestion on how i can install the timing chain sprocket without opening everything in front of the motor? thank you so much, hf240z@yahoo.com
  24. i am in the process of rebuilding the front suspension and stirring. i have a couple of question. my 72z is not for race, it is for work transport. 1. which bushing is preferrable a) rubber bushing or Polyurethane. 2. original strut (hydraulic fluid) cartridge or gas cartridge. 3. original r180 rear or r200? 4. 4spd or '79 5 spd (i have both)? 5. i know a 240z is a small car, is it capable of hauling a seadoo trir? 6. original exhaust or headers? i thank you so much. hf240z@yahoo.com

i am installing an F54 block and P90a head in place of the original 240z motor. My question is the oil pump i am using did not come with the motor. some people say i need a oil pump from a turbo to lift the hydraulic lifter on a P90a head. is it true? is there any way i can differentiate the oil pump for hydraulic lifter and oil pump for solid lifters?
