  3. thanks for the input guys. i found out it was the tach. i thought that was the weirdest thing ever. I found out when i was looking at the wiring diagram. THAT IS SO WEIRD!!!! Its off to the paint shop now. thanks again. :cheeky:
  4. ha ha. thats a funny story. good thing no damage was done. Im not planing on smoking in my car. actually i lie. I;m not planning on smoking at all. Im not letting my dad smoke in there either. Its funny. Everytime he takes my car to do something. He promises me he wont smoke. Then he thinks hes fooling me cause he puts the ashes out the window instead of the asktray. Its funny, the ashs never go out the window. THey always end up all over my back seat!!!!!!!

    good luck man.
  6. Im trying to get my z to start so i can drive it to a paint shop about a mile away. I would tow it but theguy said it has to run so he can move it around the shop. (as if a z is that heavy). The only reason it doesnt run is because i tok out the wiring harness under trhe dash becasue i was getting all new guages and the dash was its own project. So theres so harness in it. im not really in a hurry to get that very expensive dash back in there so he can "accendentially" get paint on it, (hes pretty good i done work with him before, but im not taking any chances anyway). Heres my problem: I took just the harness (without the dash and all the guages), and layed it in the passanger side. I only put the drivers seat in. THen i started hooking up all the connections to the engine harness. I plug everything in and try to start it. IT just keeps turning. I try to see if i messed up any of the connections according to the diagrams in the haynes manual. Nothing is wrong. There are a few wires not pluged in but i dont know where they go. 3 wires (its dark outside right now, i;ll get pics of those wires tommrow so u can see). After messing at it for a while i think that maybe theres no gas. I go to the gas station and bring back 5 gallons. Put it in. Tutn the key and still nothing. cant be the fuel pump or the fuel filter. I just bought them brand new and installed them. Next thing i do is check if i have a spark and the distributer while my dad is turning it over. THERES NO SPARK!!!!!! i figure i must have messed something up in the harness. Ive check, and checked and im gona lose my mind. Im not that good with wiring diagrams but i can understand them for the most part. ANyone have any idea which wire i pluged in wrond/didnt pug in that could cause me to not have a spark? Help please! I need the car runing tommrow so i can give it to him.

tmu Is "true miles unknown". I bring it up cause they're are some people out there who would do that. ITs not hard to take the odometer out roll it back and all of a sudden the car is thousands of miles slimer. But like i said im sure someone ran a carfax or something on it. at least i would have... :tapemouth

Have u tried Ebay? I'm sure you might be able to find OEM Bushings for cheaper than that. I heard this is a good kit thou if ur going aftermarket/performance way. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=7966002784&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT

U know u could always try selling stuff on ebay. 240z stuff is going good on ebay.
  15. Nice. Glad to hear someone in this forum has a love for bimmers too. I was thinking of doing that swap. The 635, also known as the M30. Very nice. I was also thinking it wold be cool if someone dropped a M6 (S38) engine in there (talking about the older body style not the new ones that just came out). With 6 individual throttle bodys and 24valves. That thing is a beast. But the M30 will definitally be a screamer. And with all that room maybe a turbo can find its way in that engine bay! :classic: Keep me updated. I defenitly want to see this.

  20. I had this same problem. When i told the officer what was the reason. he said that in the city of costa mesa its an eye sore to have a car sitting out side for a long time. so i put it inside my garage.
