I often see Z's that are not as nice as yours go listed at 20 to 25,000 Euros in Portugal. I'm not sure if they actually sell for this amount.

I finally mixed the acetone and ATF in a small metal oiler can.... wow, it works great. I could not get a broken water hose (garden hose) fitting off with a pipe wrench. I sprayed this stuff on, waited and the part came off in my hands.... I could not believe it.
  4. btw if you wanted to "tap" those holes first, just get one of the screws/bolts and file a couple of axial grooves in it using the long edge of a file. This works great for chasing/cleaning bolt holes and for taping soft materials like plastic. (I first did this using old head bolts to clean the holes in the block. Here is a picture of someone starting the "tool making" but the grooves have to go all the way along the bolt. Here is a variant that is cut a bit deep and only a single. 2 or 3 cuts are recommended
  5. They used to make Bricklins SV-1's nearby in the 70's.

Bart, I'm curious to know the street price for your car in Euros if you were to sell it in Europe? Also, would you know if Z's are priced higher in other western European countries?
  8. I did a check a long time ago and everything from the door up is the same except for the brake booster.

Check for +12V to the coil with the key in the start and the on position. Strange it ran for 1 min then the plugs fouled out. That seems like too much fuel or bad spark. Also make sure the fuel pump is running. i think your 78 has a pressure switch on the oil sensor. btw are you getting oil up in the head when winding just the starter? Run it for a good 20min straight at 2000 rpm once you get it going.
  11. EXCELLENT! Keep-em coming!
  12. try cleaning the throttle valve switch contacts and its connections to the wire harness.
  13. Got one camber adjuster rotating after a few cycles of heat, water, slide hammer. Now working on the other adjuster. Not fun work. The adjuster only works easily with the wheel unloaded.
  14. I think you found the problem

  17. How's the forest fire situation where you are? We are thinking of you every time we hear the news for BC.
  18. Is it possible a different circuit is leaking such as a cold start/choke? I'm not sure about Mikuni's but it can happen to dcoe's. Also check jet diameters. A poorly drilled made in mainland china jet could be the culprit. ' You can move jet and e-tubes around to see if the problem moves to eliminate items.

Cool. I saw a B25 Mitchell in Seattle a few weeks ago. Summer is great for this stuff.
  23. I missed that much tracking but I will look on the carb bodies for numbers. Funny thing is that the fuel bowl tops have a 1 and 2 so it may trace from there.
  24. I just noticed this. The Domes have a 1 and 2 inside on the roof that match the piston's 1 and 2. Not sure if it happens for all years but it does on these 4 screws.

OK I gave it another go: Enamel pot on the Barbie with lemon juice and some vinegar. Rolling boil for ~ 20min is the trick. It degreased the carbs and the carbon flakes off. Here are some pictures:
