can't stand farty 4cl exhausts can't stand done up FWD's They were designed to be cheap economical shopping trollies not race cars
  2. take a look at http://www.hybridz.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=15;t=000125 for a good discussion on this
  3. Not just dodgy car owners to blame, you really need to trust you panel beater as well. There's a TV program over here that investigates a different area of business every week, they did one on panel beaters once, 4 out of 5 panel beaters they looked at did a really dodgy job.
  4. P79, P90, P90a, E31 or E88 will all fit I think
  5. I've got some like that on my 240, like on the A-Team van (not red though). they look crap!
  6. pretty sure white is the rarest
  7. We have a product over here called Kephos, it's a clear film that you wipe over the bare metal and it is supposed to keep it from rusting for 2 years, I will look at the label tonight and see if I can get any more details.
  8. both engines can make 400rwhp, the rb26 will be cheaper to get there (just wind the boost up a bit and it will be there, no new parts needed) and will be under a lot less stress (and you can say "hey I've got a GTR engine in my Z"). The rb20 is cheaper to start with but will probably require a better flowing turbo, bigger intercooler, etc. and may end up costing you more than the RB26. I think you can get the rb20 to 260rwh on stock components. What about your current L28 turbo, I'm sure that can make 400rwhp?
  9. "surpass any amount of power that any RB engine could ever hope for" I have seen an RB26DETT put out 1350hp before, most of the GTR's in magazines only get mentioned if they up in the 1000's. of corse that is not very stable hp, they usually can only put out 800hp to 900hp for a reliable day to day hp. most of the RB engines will get in the 400hp to 500hp range for small amounts of money. but yes if your in the US an RB is not the best solution. where are you from skater8j8?
  10. i'm beginning to sound like a broken record, but put an RB engine in, for 8k you could put a RB26DETT in (Skyline GTR engine)

  12. 11110 - Oil sump 15050 - Oil pickup 15200G - Oil pickup O Ring 11232 - RH Mount 11233 - LH Mount 11220 - Rubber mounting (LH and RH)
  13. thanks RB30-ZED, lowering was the second option, the engine is on a 10 to 15 degre angle so I can lower the side causing the problems by about 30 to 40mm if I have to, would prefer a low intake with the throttle body at the frount if it cheap enouth though.
  14. remember 240z hp was stated in gross and 260z was stated in net (I think) so the 240z had about 137hp net
  15. Someone told me once enamel paint fades quicker in sunlight than acrylic lacquer
  16. best of luck for your easter deadline, remember things take twice as long to do and cost twice as much so don't slack off
  17. opps sorry missread your post, done correctly, bored out with the correct cams about 30% - 35% I think

I think just about everything from the 240z to the 280z interchange, hybrid engines are also not very hard to do, check out http://www.hybridz.org there is very little in body differences from the 240z to the 280z (2 seaters that is) but there is significant weight changes which kmack's link will show

lighter = faster in a straight line but it will screw up the weight distribution and make it under steer. and it will sound like a fart
