  1. I've noticed recently that there are more and more bad deals not going through on Ebay. I have 2 very recently , purchased quickly , fairly bid on and won , but both sellers have ''disappeared " into the mist. Mastercard will refund the money, but the process is such a pain . Is it a sign of the times ? Ebay asks you to wait for things to be shipped, but only gives you a 30 day window to file any complaints . Some mail takes that long just to get to and clear customs ! Then ebay's policy is to only refund a portion of your purchase if it's over a certain amount . What a scam ! Truly buyer beware , as the system is totally stacked against you ! Right now Mastercard will refund you and maybe debit their account if it still exists , but what a pain for a $40 dollar item ! I will also bet once you have too many ''refunds'' , you will get cut off . Any comments ?
  2. ^ I totally missed 26thZ's pics of the 3 tab early mounting hardware. Well unless I missed something my question is answered !
  3. Besides the bad things going on in today's world , I have a question that may distract the interested in this topic ! I have finally obtained a set of covers ( thanks Gira on ebay Thailand ! ) These are the 3 screw , ''early'' or ''prototype" style from what I gather what Kats was describing . So here it is : Did these require the mounting ''blocks'' or were these fastened directly to the headlight ''nacel'' sp? The way they fit so tightly and how they sit , it seems that a fastener installed directly into the bodywork may give a better fit , I don't know . Was there a part number for the 3 screw covers that described the mounting hardware ? I haven't drilled any holes yet , I just laid one on to see how it looked/fitted . Thanks for any response !

^ Are you sure it's original to your 11/70 ? I thought these were eliminated just after the first shipment hit our shores in North America due to the safety concerns, putting yours well away from ever having this factory installed setup . I think somewhere around the vin numbers 500 , certainly below 1000 they stopped putting this in the cars.
  5. How about : Trying to diagnose this ONLINE is like diagnosing cancer online. Take it to a shop you trust - you won't save any money here by asking for a quick fix . I'm not trying to flame you , just saying ....... :bulb:
  6. From Quebec - what else is new ?

I think the concern now is over the reactors , which is a real problem even the scientists are wringing their hands over . :paranoid:
  8. I may know one of the people in ''charge'' of the verification process for collector plates here in B.C. Good luck ! I've seen older collector plated vehicles that in no way would pass today ! Paint put on with a roller , tinted windows, big stereos ...... I guess unless there's a reverification necessary to check for compliance , these cars keep getting grandfathered in . Today this new ''committee " will check everything and you will fail . Even if you may have proof of period correct mods , you will fail .

I kinda get your point . Begrudgingly . :tapemouth

Your opinion . I've seen it go this way , and eventually either the whole ''testing'' by stupid stuff goes away and settles down, or people get tired of ''humour'' and frequent less . Time will tell , and I say ''whatever'' and move on in (this site) and others. '''' for now.......

^ +1 . Change isn't always for the better . Loosie goosie forums eventually go sideways . Now, how 'bout those Canucks........!

Thanks Arne / Stephen and others doing the behind the scenes tune-ups . This is still one of the favourite sites in my ''favourites'' list !

Nearing a dozen posts already . Maybe once a week '' Eastern European '' humour is enough for me , kinda like Mork's '' Ar, ar , humour ! '' response every 5 sentences. What is going on here ? I'm slightly distracted with ''new'' old comrades and their potential baggage . Anybody else need to shower ? Addendum : I say nip it early , no need to let us see if the other side's ''grass'' is really greener or not. Double addendum : Screw polls - it's just the thin edge of the wedge IMHO .
  14. Still , it's a good thing people here TRY to use correct spelling and grammar. The '' thumbspeak '' on other sites is like trying to decifer a text from my (slightly) younger relatives . Like , OMG like . PS Alan you crack me up - Lady Garden and all ........

Rule of thumb : never quote other trades prices if you're not in that particular trade . I can't believe how many times I see misquoted numbers ! Each scenario is different when it comes to , in this case , locksmithing .

More details - is the correct key jammed ?What position ? Is it turned , but now won't come back past the accessory position ? Has this key given trouble before ? Have you tried to force it yet with vise grips ? A solution depends on the symptoms .
  19. Mandatory release due to floods maybe ???...... not to make light tho..
  20. This car looks mint but it just lacks the style and performance for me . This car is worthy of '' BaT '' comments though ( "Bring a trailer" ) ! $31000 + ? I'd rather go for a Pantera maybe......
  21. On another note , my GP used dry ice to remove something from my scalp . He had a styrofoam cup with dry ice and a long q-tip , and pressed the ice onto the '' something ''. Holy sh!t that hurt ! It was actually sizzling all the way home , and I could barely drive because my eyes were watering so badly. Advice : wear gloves .

Missing ALL the early exterior trinkets , no interior pics - wow ! My mom can do a better sales job . Other than that , it looks like a project worth doing .
  24. Well , you have options - instead of searching for the code , you can have a good locksmith ''decode'' your existing key . From those cuts , he can check a code program and get the factory code . Depending on the year , your code can be found on the passenger door lock housing , or on a paper sticker on the glove box lid . Lastly the locksmith can take a door lock apart and see the wafer numbers and decode it that way . You might have to give me more info and reasons why the need for the code . P.S. I'm a locksmith by trade , not just guessing .
