Car show in Pittsburgh this weekend.
My parents grew up in the Pittsburgh area (Monessen PA) and the always told me there wern't many foreign cars around there. It was a big steel area and buying foreign cars was buying foreign steel. All the time I spent up there I cant recall seeing much aside from American built cars. Makes something like an old Z rare I'm sure. It would be interesting to see how they feel about them now.

Very Nice 240Z on Craig's List By Original Owner
I kinda like those wheels (American Racing?) on the Z. Denver's a little far or Id like to go see it.

Turbo into NA
I'm really not sure how much help you'll get here since just about everyone here is more focused on the 69-78 Z cars and not much later. I personally think its possible to put in a TT motor, but that could involve a lot of rewiring. Repairing the damaged motor (if its really just heads and vavles) would be the easiset thing to do I think.

77 280Z California car 2.
This car has supplied me with the plastic piece below the dash on the passenger side and a heater valve (which ended up not working.) Last tagged in 1990, its hidden behind piles of crap and surrounded by weeds. I'm pulling the heater valve in this picture.

82 280ZXT
This poor car was parked here a few years ago in running condition Im told. Apparently the owner was moving and didn't wish to take it with them. I've already taken its wheels, and coming up next I'll get the engine.

June 2005 Crash
The front end looks pretty good. Wish there were junkyards with that many Z's around here. Its tough to find parts.

One minute all is well, next no more car!

Ebay Madness
Even my car looks better than that one. If it was truley "restored" 6 years ago, then that car has probably endured 6 of the hardest years of its life since then.

300ZX twin turbo or Chevy 350
Depends on the 350. I have seen a lot of people doing LS1/LS2 swaps into early Z's and I gotta tell ya, it looks amazing and the power they put out is hard to beat. Drop in a 325hp LS1 from a Camaro or Firebird THEN turbocharge or supercharge it. Thats gonna run miles around the 300ZXTT motor. The LS1 also looks right at home in there. If I were doing a swap like that, Id go GM all the way.

Radiator pressure?
Well dammit. It starts to leak around 10psi. Looks like i'll have another 2+ years to go without a heater.

Radiator pressure?
Hey all, i have a quick question. I have just installed the replacement heater valve in my 280Z and I just need to know how much pressure the little thing is subject to. I have a pressure tester so I can make sure it doesnt leak, but I don't know how high i should pressureize it to. I searched around and saw something like 25lbs in one thread, but Id like a straight up answer if possible. Thanks to you all.

Finally got my heater valve!!
Yah, those louvers are actually in better shape than mine (minus the paint) so I'm thinking I may go for those sometime. This place is so remote, I doubt anyone has ever gone after these Z's before me. This is GM and Ford country, so all these Datsuns are VERY complete. Its really a lucky find I think.

Finally got my heater valve!!
So more than 2 years after I break my heater valve doing donuts, I have secured a replacement from a donor car. I found this car last winter and today I drove 40min and spent 3 hours retreiving my prize. This car was last tagged in 1990 and I wouldn't be suprised if its been sitting out here since then. Luckily all the glass is there and doors were shut, so all things considered the inside wasn't TOO bad. I brought a blanket to lay down on while I worked anyway. So now I just gotta hope and prey its good and not leaky like mine. This same junkyard also houses the 280ZXT I got my wheels off of and will get the engine from at a later date. I'm just happy I've fianlly gotten around to getting this taken care of. Oh ya, only cost me $15

75 280 Idle issues
My 77 was doing something similar before i changed out the head gasket. After putting everything back together, the problem was gone. I'm not sure, but I think the problem had to do with this tiny wire than connects down near the PCV valve hose connects on the front of the intake manifold. Mine wasn't conneted before and I made sure it was after I put everything back. I have a picture of it here, check to see if yours is connected.

I Need Help A.s.a.p.
That plug is for the cold start valve. It lets in more fuel to get the car running. If its staying on, the car will run rich. Also very sorry about your loss.

Xado motor oil?
Has anyone here run XADO oil in their Z? A buddy of mine just got some and after doing some reading I'm not too sure what I think about it. I'd just go ahead and give it a try, but its pretty expensive and I am kinda weary of putting in something like this. Apparently it will help reduce engine noise and other internal problems. I've come to realize that if there is an opinion I can trust about things like this, I can find it here. Let me know what you think. http://www.xado-us.com http://www.atomicoil.com/
