I got to drive my Z!
Congrats. I guess its better to bleed the brakes again than to get it on the road and not be able to stop. Keep at it, you're almost done.

I found #1678 with 2400 OHC Valve Cover
Maybe that was a bad blanket statement. But I have read of lots of stories here where cars found at the junkyard are full of parts and how its a shame because they're fairly rust free. I dont know of any z's in junkyards anywhere near Toronto that arent rusted through, and at that I only ever heard of two or three. You said there 5 Z's all in one place! I cant even imagine that. There simply isnt enough of them up here to have that many at one boneyard.

I found a 280Z in a junkyard in Northern Ontario once (right at the top of Michigan)...years of icy winters had rendered everything on this car worthless. The floors were perfectly intact but all rust. I stepped into it to check the glovebox and my foot made a perfect size 9 hole right thru. I opened the hood and it wasn't pretty either. I bet the cars you have in your junkyards there would be considered gems here.

On the bright side, you'll get to know every inch of the car and you're going to learn a whole new set of metal-working skills!

Wow MEZZ. Needless to say you must have been upset. Did you get pics of all this while you were talking to him? I also passed on a few good cars I probably should have bought because they were so far away. Plane ticket to Texas for a weekend, then gotta ship it back to the border or trailer it back. Thats alot of cost and time. It was much easier convincing myself to take a local car thats worse off because I could actually see it and get it done in a day. I admit I should have made the extra effort, but thats why I settled.

Ebay Related Etiquette
If its not something I want or I'm bidding on, I'd share the wealth. Maybe someone else wants it more. I'd rather help out a member here than step on the toes of someone i don't know (again, unless its a member here). Its a public listing after all...

Best source to shop for my Z
Try http://www.zcca.org/ and pick your state then browse the for sale ad's near you. I browse those every now and then and find Z's. I've also seen people here post about finding Z's on Craigslist.

Where can I get a second set of keys?
A locksmith is keying my locks so one key fits all. I bought a new ignition cylinder and key from ebay, and my door locks were fairly new. Hes taking a few old cylinders and taking the pins/wafers out of them and making them the right height so all the locks will use only one key. Fortunately this guy has alot of free time and is a friend.

Poor man's Porche
I've heard that term used to describe the Porsche 944/924 before, but never a 240z. I understand its use as a metaphor - The Z does not cost as much as an expensive Porsche, and it's a Japanese car - made with far less quality than a Porsche, which also leads to it having less social 'prestige' than a Porsche. (according to the metaphor - not me!) I have no idea when people coined this phrase when describing the Z car, nor if it was ever officially 'coined' in North America.

You guys North of me won't be happy...
My driveway looked just like that yesterday. I shoveled for an hour just to get one car out. Finally my neighbor with his snowblower woke up and came out. This is the worst dump we've had all winter, and it's March!

Removing old tar/mud everything
For the inner front fenders and all wheel wells, I used a propane torch (heat gun wasnt hot enough) and a scraper to get the bulk of the stuff off. The I used mineral spirits and steel wool to get right to the metal. Then I used Metal Ready to etch the metal, then Marine Clean to wash it all off, then used POR-15.
