  1. AAhhhh. I missed that 'reserve not met' completely.
  2. This car seems like a deal, but no bids. If I didnt already have a ton into my Z I would make the trip to Montreal to check this out. Although there are no pics of rust prone areas, it looks better than anything in that price range. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1971-Datsun-240Z_W0QQitemZ180170263556QQihZ008QQcategoryZ6187QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Hey welcome. This is definitely the right place to visit to learn more about the Z. Take your time looking for a Z and consider going south if it means you'll get a better car to start with. Theres a really good club out your way too, if you arent already a member check out their website: http://www.atlanticz.ca/ Good luck in your hunt!
  4. I really think that 2-tone looks sharp. Very nice.
  5. Hey all, I just wanted to share a good experience I had with BlackDragon auto (formerly victoria british). I ordered a full engine gasket set, crank and oil seal, and engine mounts. When I was on the phone ordering, I asked about the crank/oil seals and she didnt mention they came with the gasket set when I asked and its not listed (although there is a picture of 2 circles in the ad). They shipped it USPS for me so I wouldnt get dinged by UPS for brokerage fees to Canada which was nice, and shipping was almost reasonable. When I opened the gasket set box, the head gasket package was taped to the box lid, so it was kinda bent. When I inspected it it was cracked at the top. It wasnt snapped off, but it was cracked right through. I called them back and asked what I can do next, and they immediately said they'd send me another one. I also asked if I could return the seals because the gasket set had them. She explained the order taken might not have known the contents and that she would refund my credit card for the 2 seals and she would send them up also. She told me not to send the other stuff back and just keep it. I actually expected I would have to send the whole package back and insist on them paying shipping, and then wait for an RMA on the whole thing. I thought I'd share this with everyone and I would definetly order from them again knowing they'll take care of problems.

Glad to hear it worked out for you. I'm sure the bumpers on my 240z will save my rear end in a crash (insert sarcasm emoticon). Its too bad it took months, but at least it worked out in the end.

Will, Again thanks for taking the time to work on this project.
  8. The only way I got my work done (first shop it was in for welding floors/rails) was to drop the guy a case of beer or a micky every friday for about 2 months in a row. I feel your pain.

make sure your welder remembers to save your old seat mounts and the accelerator pedal mount thing.

My 71 parts car was orange everywhere until I took the rubber seal out of the rear deck and noticed it was darker. I think it just faded also, looks the same as 918 orange everywhere but under the weatherstripping. zak

Hey, welcome to the site. I am restoring a 72 240z and this site and its members have been an invaluable source for Z expertise. Theres years of archived info...try searching and you will probably find an answer. I try and visit every day to see whats going on, and I always learn something new. Good luck in your Z search (try looking waaay south for the most rust free body you can buy). Zak

  21. Found this link to a 240z for sale: http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-cars-over-5K-1970-Datsun-240z-Gen-1-from-2nd-boat-load-W0QQAdIdZ19872113 The link in the ad shows more pics.

From experience, I can say that color does not raise the antennas of the local law enforcement. What does get noticed, albeit nothing illegal, is how loud your muffler is, how loud the stereo is, how dark your tint is, if your tag is valid, and mostly how you are driving. Oh...and the classic 'reach over the shoulder really casually' to pull your seatbelt buckle down so it looks like you were always wearing your seatbelt.

  25. A co-worker found this 280zx in his attic and gave it to me. The doors and wheels actually lock until you put in a key and open them. It also comes with a car-cover that says datsun on it. It says 1982 KIDCO LOCK-UPS on it. Very neat.
