How do I restore these things....
Parts car. MSA sometimes can supply stuff like this in good used condition. Or try Danny's Datsuns, Eric Neyerlin @ ZPARTS.com, or Z Barn etc.

280-ZX Half Shafts?
The band clamps (Once, at Band Camp.....) can be replaced with "Long Plastic Zip Ties", if you can't re-use or get new OEM ones.

Oil pressure sending unit ??
Its not just corrosion or resistance, as this was a common issue when these cars (240Z's) were new. my opinion (and that is all that it is) is that it's a poor design or quality issue with the manufacture of the gauge or sender. I am also sure that we all don't have really low oil pressure.

where can i find approved cheap spare parts???
Mohamed: I'm wondering what you mean by "approved". By whom? Nissan? They don't approve any parts unless they are sold by Nissan. MSA (Motorsport Auto) and V.B. (Victoria British) can supply you with most parts you might need, but as others have said, you'll need a paper catalog to see all that they have available.

Air filters
Hi chris: Oh, I see. It's that old "Up to.............." line of B.S. in advertizing. Which really means "anything from LESS H.P. to MAYBE more 10 H.P. IF the Stars and the planets are all aligned correctly, it's a leap year, and you have a lucky rabbit's foot keychain." I have a K&N in my Z and I like it, I can really HEAR the induction system work when I stomp the go pedal. I think they make pretty good stuff, but there isn't any way I can believe the 10 H.P claim

Oil pressure sending unit ??
Well, that depends on your definition of "solve". I heard that story and I bought the roadster sender & installed it on my L24. Now, when I turn on the ignition (key turned to the first detent) I can observe the oil pressure gauge needle rise to well above the "0" mark on the gauge long before I engage the starter to "start" the engine. Yes, at idle the oil pressure gauge needle shows a more positive reading; but my common sense (and the observation of the needle rising to above "0" before the engine is even running) tells me that the actual pressure has not been changed one iota by the substitution of a different sender than the gauge was intended to pair up with. So ya, if the appearance of the needle being higher on the gauge scale makes you feel better, then the roadster sender is a miracle fix for this issue. On the other hand, if you want more (real) oil pressure, get a high pressure/high volume oil pump.

Is this stupid or what?
Isn't going to happen, as my car looks like any other operable car (even when it isn't operable) and wasn't missing an engine for more than 1 week, etc. People who own property sign documents when purchasing the property. In those signed documents you are agreeing to the rules set down in writing which should have been read prior to signing. Don't like the rules, don't sign, buy property in the nearest cesspool neighborhood. You can live with Jed, Ellie May, Jethro, and Granny and cook possum stew in the front yard if you want. If your community changes the rules and you don't like the rules, pack your $hit and move to where you DO like the rules. Property owners can do whatever they want to do with their property so long as it doesn't violate law or negitively impact the property of others. Don't be so myopic, look at the broad picture. The world DOES exist beyond your fence.

CC&R's (and city ordinances) exist for a reason. Perhaps many of you have never experienced the decline of a neighborhood due to thoughtless, inconsiderate people who don't mind living in a pig stye being allowed to run amok.......or maybe you were just renting and could simply move away, or maybe you were part of the problem. When it's your money (equity in a hoime) on the line you'll wake up & smell the coffee, quick.

Air filters
chris: where is this claim of 10hp coming from? I don't see anything on K&N's website making the claim. If the engine itself cannot process (mix the proper amount of fuel, burn it efficiently, and dispose of it), then any airflow capability is wasted. I'd like to see a set of dyno slips that document the HP difference with/without K&N, w/ stock filter, and w/ no filter on a stock engine.

Is this stupid or what?
thats only because you don't have to look at the heap o junk parked in your neighborhood lowering your property values.

softer rubber suspension parts ie not urethane
Dealer, MSA, Vic Brit, etc. (its not like this stuff is difficult to find) because urethane DOES provide SOME insulation whereas solid mount would provide NONE

Is this stupid or what?
If there weren't any "restrictions or dumb rules about my neighborhood", then HOW could they have had an "$250 "Vehicle Abatement" fine" issued to you? Seems obvious to me that there ARE restrictions in place and someone ignored them.

it's a manual process. start by clicking the "QUOTE" button in the post you want to quote in your post, then when that text appears in your "REPLY" page, you manually highlight and delete the text that you do not want to be quoted in your post. it is a manual process. start by clicking the "QUOTE" button in the post you want to quote in your post. Look carefully at the text to be quoted in your reply page. You will see what are called "HTML tags" at the beginning of the text which have "brackets" like this [ ] surrounding the words "QUOTE=the members name". This marks the beginning of the text to be quoted. At the end you will see the same brackets [ ] surrounding this " /QUOTE " which marks the end of the text to be quoted. You will have to insert these HTML tags wherever you want to start and/or stop quoting. Type your comments after the (note that the HTML tags must be in capital letters)
