Zcar Microfiche CD (do I need one?)
It will help you out quite a bit...works pretty good when someone has some NOS parts listed on ebay. Say they have the part(s) still in the bag and the bag has the P/N on it, but they (The seller) are not quite sure what model years it will fit on...etc (I.E. - 240, 260, 280, 300zx) I see stuff like that all the time on ebay....Say for example you were looking for a check valve for your brake system. (See example listed) How would you know if it's correct for your model year if you did not have the microfiche CD...Also you can use it to price parts using the following url: http://www.nissanparts.cc That's if you have the P/N..... webdawg1 Check Valve (Brake).bmp

Quick Favor
Is this what you are asking about? According to the microfiche (fiche section 126) it was used thru approx. 05/77. So if you got it off of a 75 you should be good to go...Suggest you sandblast it real good and put some POR-15 on it if you get it... webdawg1

Rotisseries
Found another set of plans that's more like a double engine stand configuration. Probably a little bit less expensive to build than the previous set of plans I posted. Looks to be pretty sturdy tho....If I remember right it wants to print out at 11x17, so you may need to have it printed somewhere. (I.E. - Kinko's, Office Depot, Office Max...etc...etc) webdawg1 rotisserie_blueprint.pdf

Rotisseries
Here's a set of plans that might help you out some....Should be able to find most of the required items in your local area. Local scrap steel yard would be even better....Might want to check into making a spindle pin puller as well...you'll be glad you did... webdawg1 Body Rotisserie.doc

Loose Shift Control
Here a link to a "How To" for this fairly easy task. You will not believe how much difference it makes when you do this upgrade. (I.E. - Using brass bushings) http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/shifterbushing/index.html webdawg1

76 280z EFI/ High Idle - Please Help...
Do you have the EFI Bible? If not you can get it at the following url: http://www.72hours.net/~zcar/ High idle checks start on page 38 and should point you in the right direction...you say that you have the FSM, so you should be in pretty good shape... webdawg1

"z stuff" link?
This the link you're talking about. Somewhere around 800 mb's last I heard. Got some pretty good stuff....I've been burning information over to several CDR disks as I run up on stuff....that way if your hard drive ever crashes you've still got the info. url: http://www.pape.ws/allan_and_rosanne/Z-Car_Stuff/ webdawg1

Spindle pin thread/pitch size?
Should be 12mm x 1.25mm on the thread pitch. Do you have the plans to make the pin puller? If not I'll send you the file so you can use it for a reference while getting all the materials together. Will be needing some pretty big "Taps" and "Drill bits". webdawg1

240z shell
Can't help you with the body you shell you are looking for; but you might want to download the 240Z "factory restoration checklist" from the following url: http://www.jasonjarvis.com/main.html and use it as a more structured approach to restoring your 240Z (with which ever body shell you decide to go with) Might help you keep a better perspective as to what exactly needs to be done to what parts...etc...etc I'm currently in the process of making up one for the 75-78 280Z crowd. Will be worded slightly different tho because it would be geared more to being owner restored instead of shop restored like the early 240Z program. None the less tho, it would add some structure to the job at hand, namely restoring our Z's. √√ and double √ Have included an imaged I scanned from "How to restore your Datsun Z-car" by Wick Humble as an example. (I.E. - Just a visual reminder as to where problems are located on the body) (Just slightly larger) Currently working on most of the "Attachments" from the 240Z checklist but using 280Z information. If anyone's interested, I'll share with you what I've got done so far.... webdawg1

Welders
You might want to check out the following website url: http://store.cyberweld.com/ Lowes stocks Lincoln Electric or you can check out their website at the following url: http://www.lincolnelectric.com/ It also depends on what all you want to do with it. The middle to high end units let you weld a much wider range of metals. (I.E. - Fairly thin metal to pretty thick stuff) webdawg1

Running real rich? wtf?
I assume you have the EFI bible in hand? If not you can get it at the following url: http://www.72hours.net/~zcar/ I'd suspect that it could/will be one of the connections (Corrosion) in the EFI circuit and or a vacumn leak somewhere in one of the hoses. webdawg1

Alternate Fuel Filter
I found a short write-up with some pictures on the "Fram G3" filter that "Sweetpea" mentioned on the front end of this thread. Thought it might be of some interest to some folks....then again...maybe not... webdawg1 Fram G3 Filter Installation.doc

wheel bearing install
You might try the following website if you want to read several "How To's" so you can see what all is involved with doing this task. That way you can decide as to if you want to do it, or have someone else do it. url: http://www.atlanticz.ca Located in the "Tech" section. There's one "How To" for the front and one for the rear, as well as various other systems. They can be rather large due to all the pictures, so you may want to save it to your hard drive or other storage device of choice. webdawg1

Alternate Fuel Filter
TomoHawk, If you go to the following url: http://www.rockauto.com Do a search on the search tab with the following search term: GF62P Should run about $32.79 each. That sure beats the hell out of that other price I found....Hello....$95.00-$100.00 That's if you want one that is....Not trying to push it on you or anything like that, Just trying to put out some general info in case anyone else decides they want to go that route...sort of a pro-active approach....take care of it before it turns into a problem. webdawg1

Alternate Fuel Filter
GunnerRob, Did some more searching on the web and found the P/N for the AC Delco filterbase & metal filter cover. P/N: ACDelco GF62P I found it listed at http://www.rockauto.com after doing a search on "Google" for $32.79 each. I'm pretty sure that's without a filter in it, but you can get those just about anywhere. (I.E. Napa, Local parts house....etc) See previous posts for filter P/N's. webdawg1

Alternate Fuel Filter
TomaHawk, I sent off an email to the guys yesterday asking for a part number breakdown of the unit, but as of this morning I have not received a reply yet. I posted a url to their website in reply #6 in this thread. From what I see on their website it runs about $95.00-$100.00 for the unit. By the way you can get the Napa filter (#3271) at Napa for approx. $2.49 each. Have not checked out sources for the other filter P/N's yet...Looks like the AC Delco filter will probably be pretty easy to locate... webdawg1

Alternate Fuel Filter
GunnerRob, About all I have is a url: http://hotrodparts.com/rollsbentleyparts/fuel-filter.htm I already had the filtering unit, but I was trying to find out which other fuel filters could be used (I.E. - Fram, AC Delco, Napa...etc...etc, as well as the P/N for each), as well as a decent picture showing what it looks like. I was doing a search on the web and found this company that sells the whole thing...appears they are retrofitting RollsBentley's with this newer type filtering unit....looks like quite an improvement over the old filtering unit...four bolts vs. twist on twist off. At any rate tho, I was kind of curious as to what everybody else was doing to address this issue. Some of the other filters that can be used with this unit would be: AC Delco: GF-157 Fram: CG20 Napa: 3271 webdawg1

Alternate Fuel Filter
I was thinking more along the lines of "In addition to" and "Not in place of" the fuel filter up front in the engine compartment. I was thinking along the lines of using the fuel feed line out of the fuel tank, (Make a bracket to hang it on) but prior to the electric fuel pump. The little fuel filter in the intake side of the fuel pump is pretty lame at best, and somewhat hard to find if you need to replace it. At least this way it will do a really good job of filtering the fuel, and be easy to replace as needed. webdawg1

Alternate Fuel Filter
Just wondering as to what kind of filters (If any) everyone might be adding in prior to the electric fuel pump on the 75-78 model years. I suppose you could probably do the same thing on the early 240/260 models as well. I ran across an AC Delco unit that will make it quite easy to filter the fuel prior to the fuel pump, as well as changing the filter at regular intervals. webdawg1

Houston we have a problem!!!
There's a little filter that goes inside the "Intake" side of the electric fuel pump. You have to pull the hose off to get to it tho...Following picture shows what it looks like. Last couple I looked at was clogged approx. 70-80% with tank crap. Carb spray works pretty good to clean it out if you use the little red straw...I'd use safety glasses also as that crap goes everywhere when you spray it... webdawg1
