Rear 3 quarter View
Rear view partially showing new 2¼" Straight through stainless muffler put on due to a backfire blowing a hole in the old muffler. You can also see how the fender mirror balances out the front making the car not look as arse-end heavy.

Fender Mirrors off a C31 Laurel Coupe
Thought I'd take some new pictures seeing as I've got some fender mirrors on now, as the title suggests they're off a Laurel, they're plastic instead of metal as the other set I have are and they're also electric, but I am not hooking them up as I'm not keen on cutting the interior to make a switch setup.

Attention body experts: what's your diagnosis?
Looks like some dork just jacked it in the wrong position then probably sat his fat arse in it. Note: If you're a dork with a fat arse, I apologise in advance

Alcantra
The Nissan Wagon that uses the same running gear as the Skyline is the Stagea, unless of course you're thinking of a specific name for one of the earlier Skyline Wagons/Estates, the C10, C110, C210 (I think) and R30 came in a wagon, not so sure about the R31 but it probably did, then came the R32 and wagons disappeared into the Stagea. I don't think any of the earlier wagons had particular names but I could be mistaken.

For Australians and others with some cash to spare.
Yeah a few weeks back a C110 with a L28 stroked to 3.1, Fender Flares big wheels, 5speed. Sold for $18000AUD! I'm on the mailing list, I can't help myself... not as tempting for me, if it was a NZ site however it'd be a different story , being as it is, I just won't bother investigating prices for NZ shipping.

http://www.j-spec.com.au/list/26-11-03/ Scroll to the bottom of the page when it loads to find yourself something relatively interesting. The reason I mentioned Australians is that it's an Oz based site and as such all import fees etc. are in AUD but there is a conversion tool somewhere on the site I think. Anyway, enjoy.

Name That Car (?)
I'm guessing it's a small mid-90's Japanese vehicle, something along the lines of a Nissan Sentra, Bluebird or perhaps a Toyota of sorts. That's going by the frontal view link as posted by Z Kid The fact that it's not so easy to identify is more proof of cars begining to look more and more alike. Bring back classic cars with lines and style I say.

New 240z Project
Those wheels are the most bizarre I've seen in sometime. Other than that though, seems to be a nice straight looking 240Z

ZX Bodykit
Judging by the licence plate and the fact it's identical to a white one ZmeFly posted the other day... I'd say you'll be looking towards Japan for the kit.

It LIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
EXCELLENT! :D I'm glad you finally got her running, I've been watching your posts in dismay, I may have commented once but it was probably not helpful. Unless I'm mistaken though... black smoke is too rich, blue-ish smoke is oil? Perhaps it's just going to take a bit to clear her out of crap after the whole hullabaloo. Good luck in fine tuning her.

Hubcaps fall off?
If you're only worried abot them not falling off and dont want to taint the appearance of them too much, then get yourself a packet of clear plastic cable ties (zip ties) put two on each hubcap, obviously you want them long enough to feed through the holes in the wheel behind it. Keep the rest of the pack in the car should you have to replace some if a tyre blows or something.

OK OK, I can take a hint. In this picture, I've transferred the whole rear panel across, it has been shortened (not as wide) to fit the back of the Z and had the angles taken off the edges (rounded like the outside lamp surrounds). I left the GTR badge there cause ... it's a GTR bade for craps sake, it deserves to be there! :classic:

240Z in movies
They actually had shite-loads of cars as they wrecked at least one per episode, you may notice if you ever see an episode again, that whenever they went over a jump, the landing absolutely destroys the car, bends the front upwards busts the chassis yet when you see it next it's perfect. Nowadays from what I hear, they're running low on the Dodge Charger all due to people making replicas of the ol' orange beast. Them Hazzard boys were in for a mighty big helping of trouble. :classic:

Can i buy 240K tailights new?? does anyone have any used ones for sale?
Hey Again, Taking a leaf from Sleek Z's book, I thought I'd photoshop the 240K lights onto the Z, I'm not sure how the scale is, being I dont have a 240Z close to try and figure it out, however, if I happen across the local car dealer in his Z one day, I'll see if he wouldn't mind taking some side by side comparison pictures. Anyway... If the scale is right, I think it looks great, having rear round lights will match the front round headlamps. If the Z belongs to anyone here, sorry it was destroyed I pinched it from one of the threads SleekZ showed. The bonus of using K lights is you'd be keeping with the same manufacturer and around the same era.

A good score?
I think it said Y70 or something similar, I can't remember exactly, but I'll probably be getting the head anyway, it was definately a six cylinder. Crossflow would have intake and outlet ports on opposite sides, correct? hence cross-flow. If that is the case then, no, it wasn't a crossflow head. My brother took the big lettered nissan rocker cover off, he's going to polish it up and hang it on his wall, so I guess if it's all polished up and they become a wanted item, he'll be able to fetch a decent amount for it should he want to sell it. I've put some chrome(plastic) fender mirrors onto my K, they look similar to the actual ones but they're off a Laurel. Cost me $30. Other than that though, news on the K front is a little slow, I'm waiting to hear back form the guy I got the R30 parts to see whether he's had any luck in removing the head and manifolds. I've also got to save $500NZD to buy the rest of the spares off the guy I bought my K from. Pair of doors, some glass, possibly some front fenders, rear tail-light section and some interior bits as well including some factory black rear int. panels and a dash minus the top (I think that's what he said). Am also waiting on some factory service manuals, 1 covering the L20, L24 and L26 engines and another for the 240Z (I know I don't have a Z but I couldn't pass it up. :classic: )

S30.. Drifting.. seriously....
Any gumby can kick the arse out on an decent powered RWD or 4WD vehicle, but just letting your arse fly out around a corner isn't drifting, there is a definate skill to drifting, it takes concentration and you really have to know your car as it takes a lot of car control. Now, I've yet to see the videos that have had their links posted (they're downloading now). They could be wreckless or just plain $^!# and not a good example of drifting. People can get things wrong, for instance, in the special features of the 2 fast 2 furious DVD ($^!# movie) they try and babble that the "star" of the film had to do a "Powerslide" towards the camera, they weren't sure whether he could do it, but they let him and it was the "best shot of the film" according to the producer, however, if you look at that scene, you'll see all he does it yank the handbrake and turn the wheel left to slide it vaguely sideways. Again, any gumby can do that. Now... correct me if I'm wrong, but just as a powerslide would suggest the use of power in the slide, drifting makes it seem as though the car is doing exactly that, drifting or floating along the tarmac.

Skyline Clone help!
One of the nicest and best transplants I've seen is the R34 GTR nose on the Stagea 260RS, which as most people do or should know it essentially a GTR Stationwagon, being it shares the same powerplant and drivetrain. It (the Stagea 260RS) was bought about to rival Subarus best wagon, but being it was basically a GTR it really did more than rival it. I'd go as far as saying, kicked it heiny. I've attached a pic.

Option Gear boxes
Hey Ben, Firstly, thanks for your response. Secondly, are you sure it wont fit? the designation you just gave me (FS5W71B) is the exact number of the optional 5speed, listed in my 240KGT C110 series Factory Parts Manual. So I guess, it should fit going by the parts manual which changes my question to.. are you sure that it's that tranny number? I did some basic measuring and it is physicall shorter than the auto, but I also grabbed the front section of driveshaft which from my bush mechanic measurements, seems to make up the difference. Or am I completely off track?

C210
The engine series for the C210 was much the same as the C110 minus the S20 GTR. Those tail-lights were a Japanese Domestic Market item, the UK or export versions ie. 240K, came with squared tail-lights, rectangles really, similar to most Datsuns of the time.

I know you hear it alot, but it couldn't be any more true in this case.... the ULTIMATE sleeper. How long til she's complete?

Oversteer/Understeer???
My C110 really bites into the corners, although I haven't had a chance to try anything at a high speed yet, as it's still got an auto ATM, I've been pretty impressed with it's handling overall thus far though. I'm aching to make her step out a little, easily done on gravel of course but there's no tire squealing and smoke on gravel. Fun none the less.

Option Gear boxes
Could you tell me/do you know what 5speed was in the 81 L20E HR30 Coupe? I recently removed one for my 240K, haven't got around to putting it on yet, still need a few more bits and pieces. I have attached a picture of it, as you can see it has a bent stick, and there's no identification plates on it anywhere (there is on the auto on my 240K) There is also a number stamped into the very top of the bellhousing but it doesn't seem to correlate with any transmissions numbers I've read anywhere else.

Skyline Clone help!
You're not a fan of the mighty drift machine the SilEighty then Mr. Camouflage? It's a popular conversion nowadays in NZ seeing as there were very few made and getting ahold of them is mostly impossible. I was contemplating one myself if I found a Silvia, however, I didn't find a decent one or even one at all until after I bought the C110. S13's are limited in supply in my part of the country, unfortunately.

Skyline Clone help!
This should be what you're after, I think. http://www.skylinesdownunder.com/article.php?sid=2&PHPSESSID=e8cbd5cc6255f822b36a55ab34638969 I just realised the above link is no use as all it does is tell you it exists, so... you'll have to go here; http://www.jpnz.co.nz/xcart/customer/home.php And just to be anal, it's spelt Silvia not Sylvia. Hope this helps.
