  6. tell her she can sell it now to you someone who will take the car and love it for 400 cash!!
  7. by the way is it good with chips raising the rear of the car, of course being careful and chocking the front wheels let the car run in first gear at idle to listen to whats wrong with the rear
  8. hehe only the inexperienced use a trailer . alas the trip must have been fun welcome to your first addiction if you never had one before you most certainly do now. the bug bites ya hard in the pants with the Z. hope you enjoy everyday with it.
  9. there was also the 79 280ZXR, only 1000 made so that they could use that huge wing on the rear of the car. though it is completely functional hehe see my photo insert. much like the Zap Z, it was nothing special besides the wing and the sticker package.
  10. msa sells rebuilt from ATK head for 495, i dont think thats to bad of a price. i was priced from jasper engines for a 82 2.8 long block only 1600. also not really bad. depened on how bad the cancer is and it doesnt seem to be too bad and if your only going to pay 300 what the hell get it save it and love it :classic:
  11. hehe ive owned almost ever Z car there was, except for a 280ZX or ZXT, and a 90+ 300ZX and well now the 350Z

  13. chuga chuga chuga chuga woooooo woooowoooooooooooROFL sorry i couldnt resist:devious:
  14. but you can pay as much as 500 dollars for a used one and no warranty at all. clutch packs are expensive, to replace. with the quaife no worries and better selection. now speaking of the N42 head i dont know if any of you know of Norm, he has a 71 240Z daily driver, with his engine made of junk yard parts. its a small 2.9 stroker and with the N42 head and su's and hes turned a best time at the track of 12.92 he balances and hand sands his own pistons and rods and such. hes a true marvel at the track and on the street and in the Z world. if you ever feel curious about going to the other Z site, you can ususally find him at www.Zcar.com and www.hybridZ.org
  15. if you want to be limited and not have that fast or streetable car, then by all means, stick with the carbed n/a motor. if you must have an N/A motor then you should go with fuel injection, not carburetion. its a simple plain know fact that injection is better the carburetion any time. the best engine in my opinion, would be a 83 turbo motor, upgraded turbo with upgraded injectors. more power, reliability, streetability.<~~is that a word. however i do agree with the tranny selection and rear selection but would also stick with the R180 with a quaife differential. just my .02

it would be a little hard and really expensive to get 300 hp out of an N/A straight six application, yes you could use webers but when when fuel injection is so much better. on that same note the price you would pay for a set of webers would almost buy you a goos stand alone fuel management system from someone like SDS. now if you were to drop a 2.8 turbo motor into your lil 240, 300 hp would not be hard to reach at all.
  17. i love it, caveman hehe keith your freindly neighborhood caveman
  18. first check to make sure the system is bled properly, also make sure your fork is adjust properly for engagement. i would chek over the master and the slave. if they need replaced they are both fairtly cheap parts. look at adjustment on the slave for the fork and see if this does the trick. that was my problem when i installed the 5 speed into the 71 i had.
  19. 2many would be the godfather of the Z
  20. "this also makes since to replace because after I get done driving my car my girlfriend won't come within a mile of me because of the fumes on my clothes" the reason for the smell of exhaust fumes in the car is one the inherent design of the car and two worn out old 25+ year old seals. yes the rubber seals in the engine bay that attach to the firew wall and at the rear of the car in your hatch and at your rear tail lights.
  21. headers really arent necessary, yet. the reason you smell like a muffler is because you have leaking seals in your car that are allowing the fumes to get inside. as far as a good system msa sells a mandrel bent system for Z cars for 139 dollars. a lot of people are pretty happy with that. its a 2,5 inch system.
  22. i like the idea of how they work better then who i was going to recomend which was haggerty
  23. looks like someone was dipping into the 45 just kidding but i couldnt resist:cross-eye
  24. see if that helps, if not take the starter off its easy enough and take it to your local parts store most will test it for free
  25. i was looking at that one and after 2 days of it being on the internet, it was sold :sleepy:
