  1. If the car has sold, I was merely suggesting that the thread be closed rather than continuing with a series of Austrian and Arabic language posts.......
  2. Close this.........please!
  3. I always made sure the adjustments were proper and then just drove the same way I drove the old clutch.
  4. I don't think that's 'Larry's car' but one that the shop he worked at built. (If it is Larry's car, I apologize, but I seem to recall that the owners name was Greg.) I remeber seeing it on HybridZ about a year or so ago. I agree that the crux of this thread has escaped a few of the posters. Shoot him a PM, John. I'm sure he'll tell you all about it.

Test the fuel pressure while it's running and watch what happens to it as the car begins to die. I'm thinking that you still have junk in your fuel system from sitting.

Need a little more history. Did the car run okay before this problem developed? Did you purchase the car in this condition? Had it sat, not running, for an extended period? Running a fuel pressure test might have prevented the replacement of those rather expensive (if new) parts.
  7. I'll second that!! I guess for me it would be the 905 Red 1970 I once owned in the condition that it was in when I owned it. I wouldn't really be interested in finding it today and restoring it.
  8. That's the 'antenna trimmer' adjustment. From what I understand that only applies to AM. Something else is likely wrong because even without an antenna, you should get some kind of sound like hissing, crackle, etc.
  9. Some of those pictures are five years old........
  10. Right. Switch the numbers in the circles marked '3' and '6' and that diagram would be pretty much spot on.
  11. Costs less here:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/70-83-Datsun-240z-260z-280z-280zx-NEW-Ignition-Switch_W0QQitemZ220530019633QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item33589d0d31
  12. That's it. The OEM Nissan part number is 48750-E7705.
  13. That's the ignition switch. It is available seperately. The same one was used from 70-83 in both the S30 and the S130. Pretty sure they are still available through Nissan as well as places like Black Dragon, Motorsport, and even eBay. If you can't find one, p.m. me. I have a couple good working used ones.
  14. He said the previous owner did that. From what I recall, 'back in the day' there was a kit that consisted of those buckets and the necessary hardware.
  15. Might have been better to start by being straightforward and saying that you're the one selling the car. The fact that the eBay as says San Antonio, TX and your forum location says Pittsburg though that's likely TX rather than PA might cause some confusion. Confusion isn't a good thing when you're trying to sell a car. In the past, I've seen that sort of thing cause more discussion about the method in which the ad was posted that about the car being sold.

Too bad you're in S.C. and I'm in California. I'm an AC tech and have the tools for that including a hose crimper and all the necessary fittings.
  17. Looks very much like 2005-2006 Pontiac GTO Cyclone Gray Metallic....
  18. I don't know, just steer clear of those responses. You can potentially run into problems with any method you choose to buy or sell a car.
  19. I wonder how they choose those photos. My 78 'was image of the week' on their site about two years ago. The pic they used was from an 'Absolute Z Club' gathering about 5 years ago.
  20. Here's the pic from the site:
  21. If that was the case I wouln't have mentioned bringing back the thread. Whatever, a person's meaning is easily misunderstood in print. Way too much time has been spent on this topic however I did go back and fix it to clear up my meaning and I promise I won't post in this thread anymore.
  22. Chill and re read my post. What did I say that would lead you to that kind of response? My comment about 'shoving it' has to do with the original poster, not you. To you I said "You can like it. That's your call"
  23. Why would you even bring this back? No one ever said anything to the contrary. You can like it. That's your call. MY MAIN POINT TO THE ORIGINAL POSTER WAS just don't come on a site where that sort of thing isn't commonplace and try to shove it down our throats.
  24. I'm 6-2 and 210 and I didn't like the way I fit in either of the Nissans. My GTO is a 2005. 2004s have a 5.7 liter 350 hp engine (LS1) while the 2005-2006 have a 6.0 liter 400 hp engine (LS2). Mine is a 6 speed manual. I done a couple of mods to mine giving it roughly 430 hp at the rear wheels as opposed to the advertised 400 hp at the crank. I've run a 12.435 in the 1/4 on street tires. It's just more of a beast than the 350/370Z. Muscle car rather than a sports car. cajunz, selling my truck and my 810 was fairly easy but I'll miss my 78 280Z for a long time.
