  1. Yup. Pm me.
  2. Ready for another shot of primer.
  3. I'm not sure if the DBW is really worth the added mods versus the TPS and a good throttle cable to replace the old linkage. Then you would have less need for the Elite 2500 and could go Elite 750 and save $1000....
  4. I will check and see if I kept that part... I have a Vintage Air system in my 9/75 280Z and didn't re-use any of the stock system.
  5. The "pads" are still required to hold the fenders to the correct height and prevent vibrations. The seal should stop most debris from going from fender well to engine bay. The old flat seal was junk and the new bulb style fit perfect. I used an eBay seal that came in a 3 meter length and did both sides and the front hood to rad support seal as well. About an inch left over... Inner Fender Seal
  6. So you want to swap in an RB 25/26 then. Stop now if you want to keep your L28. Max out put with a turbo won’t hit 500...
  7. I have a wheee brain....
  8. so some boring filler and sanding tonight. This will be the norm for a while as I prep the panels for paint. The fenders were already done so that leaves the doors, scoops, inspection lids, cowls, balance and hood/hatch to finish. Sounds like a lot...
  9. Sorry, this shell was sold long ago. ConverTT hasn’t had a chance to update the thread.
  10. Looks familiar!
  11. What I meant by destroy is more like “drive to death”. Without the skill or money to look after it, it will not last long in good shape.
  12. My practice area. But it does look nice!
  13. If that’s the case, but two. One to drive and destroy and one to restore later!
  14. So after confirming dementia is beginning, I realized I was putting the new fender seal on the wrong lip of the inner fender. Here it is installed on the right ridge with the old style rubber strip laying beside it. The new bulb style seal is great!
  15. The 280 will only get more expensive in time. I still say buy one and store it for later. First cars usually end up being a sad story you tell your kids.
  16. Drive the Corolla. Save your money and, if you have space, buy a 280Z in good condition and store it for later. You can then spend time learning about your car and what it will need. Keep saving and slowly restore it to a road worthy vehicle. By that time you will have enough driving experience hopefully to appreciate the old Datsun. Definitely not a First Car IMHO...
  17. Enter the rabbit hole...
  18. Before and after...
  19. Some nice restoration work on parts that will never be seen ... ?
  20. I had a similar hole in my E88 head from @zKars stroker motor. The original builder may have used a coolant system on the head like others have mentioned. Jim had a leak from under the manifold he could never locate until I took everything apart and found this leak. I used a threaded rod to plug it.
  21. Drive it without the turbo first, then balance the cost of the turbo system against your perceived gain in performance/enjoyment.
  22. I bought four "green" colours and tested them on a spare fibreglas panel first. That way I could see how they reacted to the cars curves and different lighting conditions. ... and then I let the wife pick! She choose wisely.
  23. Fixed that for you....
  24. I paid $100 for my 280Z and thought it was a great deal that I could restore for about $10,000.... ... and then reality and rust kicked me in the junk.
