  1. I can honestly say that the enjoyment and education I have received from doing this “restoration” has been worth every penny so far. Having said that, I try and stretch my meagre budget as far as I can!
  2. For those of us that have no plans to sell, it is a cost that we never recoup.
  3. I’m going to try the 3D printing first.
  4. Cognilio or whatever his name is on eBay only ships by signature envelope to Canada. He got burned with shipping issues before so the shipping costs to Canada are $65....! I have asked him to ship other items before and his costs are too rich for my blood.
  5. How about this? https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2406119 I am going to print some at the library (they have a 3D printer there).
  6. I had seen those as well but was unsure if they would fit properly. I can buy some and test them out.
  7. Not complaining about the companies that support us. This is a reasonable price in the states. I have already placed my major orders from the states so small ones like this are usually better sourced locally.
  8. Maybe there is a Dorman number for these out there somewhere. $5 US a piece plus $25 US Shipping makes it a little ridiculous to buy from Z Car Depot. That's like $60 Cdn by the time it arrives.

Green is just a yellow car feeling blue....
  10. Now throw a briefcase full of cash and cocaine in the hatch and head for 88 mph!
  11. Off topic but relevant... Does anyone have a source for the adjustment screws and nylon backs?

Mine was 240 Green at birth and will be E2335 PPG British Racing Green when finished. White is nice but so few green cars still out there...

    Oh that beautiful green....!
  14. I say just clearcoat it as is. Doesn’t get much better than that.
  15. Too late Jim, they saw your post...

.... nobody told me I couldn’t! As for the whole car, the thicker the material, the harder it is to “section” coat. The thin splash pan only needs one side heated to properly cure the powder. Easy peasy.

Can’t believe I finally found a rust free intact gas door! Third time’s the charm!

    Looks good!
  20. I used the copper slag on the underside and inside of the car but not on body panels. I used EZ strip wheels for that.
  21. Wow... such a great condition car! Mine was nothing like that....

Just forward of the inspection lid cutout.
  23. Feature(s) Coarse and angular-shaped particles cut through paint, rust and mill scale. Produces very little dust during blasting and boasts faster blast-cleaning speed when compared to other slag abrasives. Typically it is composed of ferrosilicate (Fayalite, Fe2SiO4) material and oxides, formed when the molten slag is quenched in cold water.
