  1. I have never seen a metal 240Z emblem, except of course the c-pillar emblems are sort of metal.. (zamac it's called over here, stands for zinc, aluminum and magnesium or something.. i'm not sure.. it's a combination / alloy ,of the most impossible metals, it has to go wrong.. and if old it does! It rust from the inside out! there are bubbles of air in the metal that after many years start to look for an exit.. haha...) I've got a feb. 1971 240z and it has plastic Datsun and 240z emblems. once i had a 1972 euro style 240z and that one also had plastic datsun and 240z emblems.
  2. someting went wrong..haha.. don't ask me how i did that!...
  3. Does anyone know what no: 83 is? is it needed when installing fendermirrors or is it just a rubber to support the fender? (Thought i ask you guys, not inventing the wheel twice..)
  4. UPDATE... i just bought 2 fendermirrors 96301-E4100 and 96302-E4100 and a doormirror also Original nissan 96301-E4600 All three new in a Original box.. i just can't get any better...
  5. Yeah, a lot of money, luckily i don't have to pay any fees because they are here in this country.. :-) They are so nice it's a sin to use them haha...
  6. Funny you say this... When my Goldwing is in the garage there is a small path round my 240z (in the wintertime) and often i have to re-adjust my door mirror (of the type "aftermarket" and not very steardy) because i hit it often when going through the narrow path.. mind you, there is no paint that i can scratch because it needs a new paintjob.... for years... (the 240z will get a resto in the next 2-3 years i think..)
  7. Moelk, that's a lot of money for some mirrors man... wow.. I'm also thinking of .... when i buy this new set, am i gona use them on my restoration car? it's almost a sin to use them huh?
  8. THANKS Guys, i think... i think... i'm gona buy them... pfff... they are new in the Original box.. (Thanks for the info!) Has anyone installed a brakecilinder RH on the left side? (i have 2 new cylinders but are both RH) can it be done with a little persuasion/fiddling?
  9. And while were asking questions.. has someone ever build in a R rear brake cylinder on the left side.. i have a set of R hand RH rear brake cilinders, with a little mod. could it work also on the Left side? (a little work on the bottom plate to fit and bleeding it would be a little bit more difficult i think because the breather is pointing downward... oeps... Obviously these are 2 RH cylinders...
  10. here is a pic..
  11. Today i got offered a set of Original fender mirrors IN ORIGINAL NISSAN BOX... what should i pay for these new (!!!) parts.. 96301-E4100 and 96302-E4100 !!! they are long stalk and dull black in color..
  12. I studied mine and is the 2e pic.. the T has a left and right blunt ends were the other has an angle on them.. this (blunt ends) emblem is from a later 260z i think and was, the last time i checkt no longer available, can cost a 100$.... (btw, i've got a brand new one in plastic..
  13. OH.. i see what your problem is in the picture: it says: "Made in Italy" sorry couldn't help myself.. (I HATE italian junk!!) eh but seriously.. if the valves are closed in your carbs, there must be some other air intake.. also known as leaks... ;-)
  14. I realy don't know much about the paintlayers.. i know mine gets first a sealer (rust inhibitor), then spray filler, metallic paint and blank laquer twice.. CAN ANYBODY HERE HELP ?
  15. Hello sisask, Welcom here... By 4 layers you mean the paint layers? oh well there are enough people here who know alot of that and i could ask my painter also.. I'm restoring a 280zx and should also be ready in march, 2018.. but it's at the painter for a year or so now hahaha i'm in no hurry and so is he! Tell us what it is you want to know.. BTW (by the way..) We here in the Netherlands had a big car show, could be bigger than the one in sweden, (when i see those 4 halls..) the MECC in Maastricht is 35000 m2 big... https://www.interclassicsmaastricht.nl/en/ Greetings from the Netherlands, Mart
  16. yeah and these are DUTCH! we rock....
  17. Funny thing is... the front rozettes or bumperrettes (or whatever you would call e'm ) are the left one sits now on the right and vice versa, and upside down! on the car... no one else sees this? oh well ....
  18. No,no... not at all.. put it in the files.... Maybe someone can enhance these digitally.. Mart
  19. Here i've got a copy of the fiches Datsun 240z / 260z s30 (euro version ?) I'ts readable... Fich0001.pdf Fich0002.pdf Fich0003.pdf Fich0004.pdf Fich0005.pdf
  20. The L24 i was talking about has serial Nr: L24-180723 and came out of a '73 Dutch version 240z. I believe it's one of the last L24's ?? ( Almost sure it's a all Original block.. the car where it came out of was sitting on a junkyard under a enormous pile of junk..for about 25 years... in the early '10's that had to go because the yard was no longer to be and they discovered this car... (It's now on a new location) The son of the owner looked at it and was not surprised by it, he bellowed to his dad on a crane: Shall we throw it in the press or save the engine of it? It got saved.. the car... sadly no... they did'nt know what they were throwing away.... ) On the pic you see that these are flat tops.. no fly cuts.
  21. I've got a '73 complete engine with the E88 head, it's the deeper head, but the pistons are flat with no cut-outs.. no flycut... I'm pretty sure that it is a euro version 240z engine L24.
  22. Wat wij noemen: supergaaf.. Eh... what we call here : super nice! know 'm all...
  23. I'm going to put in some König seats in my 240z, they were used in "Original" rally cars! I've seen them in yellow/black and as in my pic red/black. They have also a fearly high back.
  24. From before my time but something special it is....
  25. Nice ReVox A77 MK 3 Yes they made 4 types of them from round 1967 till 1984!! that good were they! It's one of the best taperecorders ever made.. A77 MK1 till MK4. Just this week i was repairing my own B215 cass tapedeck! After 30 years it needed only a drop of oil and 2 new pinchrollers!! This machine is from 1986, bought it new at my work.. ReVox Import Netherlands!! Was a ReVox engineer for a few years, but i was not the person for a 9 to 5 buro job so later on i was a service engineer, much more fun! Here you see also a part of the cd player B226.. i had a complete set B200 series.. (could have bought a Mercedes from it...haha..) With the biggest speakers ReVox had at that time The Symbol B MK2.. sound was great until the B251 (A very complicated power amp. gave up. I remember that in the 80's when a B251 came in for repair.. the chief engineer asked for a new amp and powersupply for it... HAHAHA.... those things were to complicated, just put new units in it and send it to the customer! I tried to repair my amp but no succes.. The B215 however works after 30 year still perfect! Even the music i recorded with it in the 80- and 90-'s sound realy good!! (all high quality tapes and stored in a good climate!! that's important.) Mart.
