  1. Dave A money order is on its way for 2 harnesses as agreed Thanks Andrew

No problem!! If yours are original then I would replace them to avoid damaging any new glass you put in. You can get the inner trims separate from the door panels - rzola does them regularly on ebay. You can get the outers from VB or MSA but they are pretty expensive about $70US each side plus shipping etc Andrew

    Thanks Carl, just got it

Do you mean scratched? This usually happens when the external rubber strip or the inner top strip on the door panel goes hard/worn with age or you have some dirt inbetween the strips and the window. This then scrapes against the glass as it is rolled up and down. Similar thing happens to the windscreen where you can get get the wipers leaving lines on really old windscreens. I have heard of people getting minor scratches out of glass with jewellers rouge, but I would think replacement would probably be your best best if it is that bad. hope it helps cheers Andrew
  5. A steady trickle of ex USA LHD cars in the UK, that are being converted to RHD. LHD battery trays do not fit RHD cars so LHD battery trays are probably being skipped. there's an opportunity for someone there. Andrew
  6. Vicky I was under the impression that Nissan stopped the vintage 240z program due to them losing huge amounts of money on each car, not due to shortage of OEM bits. I'd like to know for sure what the real reason was. Andrew

  8. I used a flat blade bit from an impact driver wedged between one of the top bellhousing bolts and the teeth on the ring gear. Piece of cake. Andrew
  9. 240znz I would put oil down the bores and over the cam and everything, and turn it over by hand with a socket on the front crank pulley. repeat once every couple of months or so ( both oiling and turning over). You could do it with the starter motor but I don't think it is necessary. And you will have to strap the engine down pretty well to stop it flipping over with the torque reaction. I would say it is more important to add oil to the bore/cam surfaces regularly, than to spin it over on the starter when the engine is dry of oil. The engine from my 1972 z has been stored this way since 1990 and the cam and bores are still perfect. The bottom end will stay rust free just as long as you keep the sump on it, the bearings will retain enough oil to keep it happy as long as you are only turning it over by hand. Hope it helps Andrew
  10. Dylan have you looked at www.zclub.net . The UK Z club site. There are many UK suppliers listed there who also partake actively in the forums. Whilst your super rare fairlady is not a UK model, I'm sure lot of the parts for the later UK spec HS30 RHD cars will fit. hope it helps Andrew

  13. Probably. Bit like Jeremy Clarkson. Incidentally Alan Decadenet was cautioned by the police after admitting to doing 200 mph on a public road in a Mclaren F1 near the Mclaren factory in Woking, England
  14. Rob I presume that means the US/Japanese cars have their parking lights in the front underbumper indicators? Sounds like the wiring is there on UK cars but is not used on UK indicators. Dave, are you OK with shipping to the UK if Black Beaut and I arrange an international money order? Andrew
  15. Dave Looks like an excellent product. Don't want to have to replace my fuse box anytime soon. Would this upgrade kit be compatible for cars that have the parking lights ( ie pos 1 on the combination switch) in the headlamps ( I don't know if US cars have the same parking lights as in the UK) thanks Andrew
  16. Rob maybe we could buy together and split the shipping/money order cost? I seem to recall owing you a favour Andrew
  17. what would make it really expensive for me would be aftermarket/upgrade stuff which can cost really big money. I am leaving virtually everything standard until i get the cars running and then I will see whether I want to upgrade and if I can afford it.
  18. Dave These were listed previously by Rzola and at that time they did not include hinges. Better luck this time. Incidentally I did buy some broken tool box lids ( not from Rzola) just for the spare hinges, but they never arrived Andrew
  19. Adjusting for the £/$ exchange rate for me it is roughly as follows Purchase of 2 cars $8000 purchase of parts ( mostly within the last 2 years) $3500 $11,500 so far. I don't believe I need any more parts for my 1970 car and I will respray it myself but I will need to spend out on door/quarterpanels/wing (fender) repairs on my 72 car. Neither of my cars will be anything like showroom when (if?) they are finished. I am glad that I have bought all the parts I need for my 1970 car over the past 2 years or so, as prices now seem to be going mad for early parts. Andrew

Carl I will have to follow this up now that we know that Chloe hasn't died or anything like that. Paypal and Ebay were of no help as it was too long after I sent the payment for them to do anything. Generally I think there is only recourse against the card issuer over here if you can prove the supplier has gone bust without supplying the goods. But I will check that. thanks for the pointer Andrew

Chris - Just another boring old day then (although I must say faked deaths is one you don't see every day!!! )

Maybe she just sold everything off as a job lot to someone who deals in z parts. I know she had a number of z's dismantled or being dismantled at her place. But if she sold everything off you would have thought someone here would have heard about it. Too many unanswered questions here. If she didn't owe me money/parts I would say it is none of my business what she is doing now. Unless someone else has already tried I will register on the cat site to try and contact her. There is of course no guarantee that she will respond anyway as she has obviously had plenty of opportunity to tell us what happened and has not done so. Andrew

2 that I know of for sure. 26th-z and myself, and I think 2manyz's said he was owed as well Maybe there are more.

beat me to it Wal280z!!! Can I resist the temptation to register as a member on this cat site and then email her and say 'where are my ***** parts!!!'
