Will 240z rear strut braces fit on a 280z?

I tink the last time i checked my timing(few weeks ago). The timing was at about 3 or 4. It seems as if i dont have any more space to turn my distributor. is there any other way to adjust the timing?

I have a 78 FI 280z with the stock r200 3.545 rear, with the stock 4 speed. Only thing i'v done is put on an k&n cone filter. Im getting about 10 miles per gallon. What could be the cause? My injectors dont seem to b leaking. but like i said earlier, i have a vacuum leak, but i cant seem to find it, so not sure if it is a vacuum leak. And my timing might be about 4-5 degree advance. the timing mark under the hood shows 10 its at about 4 or 5 but i have no more room to turn the distributor to get to 10i can only turn it the other way.

Ok. Now im pretty sure that im getting around 10 miles a gallon or so. So what is there i can do to fix it. Again, I have a 78 280z fule injected. Seems like i have a vacuum leack, can that b a problem. but i cant seem to find the leak. My timing might b off, seems like i have no more room to turn the distributor to get the timming right. it say timing mark 10 under the hood"s lable. Help me out guys.!

Hi Guys, I jus checked my timing today and it was inbetween the 0 an 10 mark about 5 or so. do u guys know what the is the stock setting for timing on a 78 280z.

i should be able to get the thermostatic control at the same place also?

well, im not really worried about smogging. so it be great if you guys can tell me what to remove and where they're located.

i'v heard that they're tryin to do dynos with smogs. to see if your power levels matches factory or close to . not sure. but i'v heard.

My car doesnt have a very steady idle. Somes times it will idle ok but then most of the time it idles pretty high. I jus recently found a very bad blow by hose and had it replaced. Now its idels jus fine right when i first start the car, then it jus goes up slowly. then for about the rest of the time it idles around 1300-1500rpms I've replace the intake portion that goes after the air flow meter with a good one. Replaced the bad vacuum hoses. but it still idles very unsteadily.can some one please help me out.

the car runs fine. although i am finding that theres a lot needed to be fixed. and the rpms do not affect the voltage.

Hi guys, I dont know what my problem is but i was hoping you guys can tell me. my voltage meter isnt very steady and goes up and down alot. There were a few times where my car didnt even crank. when i turn the key to the on position, the voltage meter went all the way down. but then i checked my battery clamps and they were kinda lose then i tightened them and i haven had the starting problem yet. Im not sure if that was it, but my meter is still jumping around. Could it the VR or the resenator?

Hey, is it really safe to put ATF in your gas tank to clean you engine internals. i read this on one of the other threads. does it really work. and how good does it work?

humm.. I guess its jus cuzz my car is loud and when i drive it up to 3k normally it jus seems like im reving high. Guess i'm more used to driveing quite little four bangers. Thanks guys. I needa get sum electric fans, any recomendations?

ok, i jus filled up today, put in about 12 gallons, according to my guage, it is almost full. which means i have somewhere around a 13-14 gallon tank, which according to 2ManyZs is incorrect and that i have a 16.3 gallon tank, i dunnoe, n e way. i will keep track or my miles per fillup and report bak.

Ok. I'm talkin about normal driving. When you talk about shifting within 3000-5000, are you guys talking about driving it hard or normal driving? when i drive my car hard, i dont shift untill at least 4000rpms or above. when i drive normally. speed limit, normal stop and go, I USED TO shift at about jus under 2000 becuzz i thought it saved more gas that way, and at about a loittle over 2000rpms for hills. but what im getting from you guys is that it is not good on the engine. So now when i drive NORMALY, i shift at about a little over 2000 to 2500rpms. it seems to be driving fine. So im jus wondering now if you guys are talking about PUSHING IT or jus NORMAL DRIVING?

I was normally shifting at about 2000rpms. is that bad? But when i go up hill i shift maybe around 3000 or so. Now im sifting at about 2200-2500 rpms. Ed, when you say at least 5000 Your not talkin about normal driving are you?. Guys. when im talkin no low end power. im not talkin about pushin the car. im talin about normal driving. I have no problems when driving the car hard expept when i shift fast and pop the clutch, it seems to get a lilttle jerky and doesnt quite accelerate for a few seconds.

does anyone know how big the gas tank is? It seems to me as if it is about somwhere around 15 gallons. not sure. but my gas mialage seems pretty bad rite now. i tinks i pumped about 9.5 gallons in when i still had about an 8th of a tank left. i got about 7/8th of the tanks filled. but im now below a half a tank and have only driven about 60 miles. i guess you can say its somewhere around 10miles per gallon. thats not very good. well. next i fill up on a full tank. i'll make sure i reset the trip meter. And i'll let you guys know.

when i say no power i mean its like, even if i floor it, it doesnt pic up any more speed untill it gets to a certain point. I've drivin 4 cylenders(manual) b4 and have never experienced any thing like the way my car perfporms. Or maybe im jus used to drive automatics. I dunnoe guys, even when im goin in 2nd or 3rd gear at about 1800 rpms or so, my rpms would drop even if i floor the pedal ( that is goin up hill). I dunno guys, U tell me. My mpg doesnt seem all that great. i think its under 15 mpg. Not quite sure. Again, i have a 78' fuel injected 280z. no carbs. Well, ima try to replace all my vacume hoses and egr unit soon and then i'll see wat happens. thanks guys for helping me.
