Fuel Pump Hammer Smack
That EGR tube was a recall from Nissan and if you had the work done there was a sticker inside the hood on the passenger's side. The pics show efi then carbs. Which 1 you running?

Fuel Pump Hammer Smack
My 240 had almost a pound of rust and crud. Tank cleaned up beautifully and I haven't had any issues since I coated it with Red-Kote. I'd already done the tank on my 280 and was anxious to do the 240 then I realized all the hoses and the evap tank I needed to replace. What a job that turned into! For my 280 I think I bought the last Bosch OE fuel pump in 2011 thinking that was my problem. Oh boy was I wrong! A lot of other problems with the EFI were ahead but I got it all worked out and made a fuel rail for it and put in a 6to1 ceramic coated header. The EGR was clogged up and caused a huge rotting hole in my aluminum intake manifold. It runs good now but only after adding a potentiometer to add more fuel to the ECU's coolant temp sensor function. I've got the OE pump still and it works fine but newer is always better. I think it was $250? I say run it until it starts not keeping the pressure you need. These pics of my 240 tank are not indicative of the 280s tank from what I've seen with my cars.

Not secure
I've gotten that before but just for a minute. Happened yesterday then took a wizz and back to normal. The least of my worries is with classiczcars.com, but I understand. Logging onto government sites for insurance scares the bee Jesus out of me.

Seiko Datsun Watch
It looks to be a nice Seiko watch with excellent features. Can't speak about the quality of Seiko watches. They were all the rage in mens wrist watches in 70s and 80s. My Dad received one when he retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber.

After seeing your battery upgrade you have the 3rd white/blue early car that I have seen. Eiji had one in Atlanta, a guy that lives not too far from me has one dismantled in his garage and even asked me about helping to put it back together but he's been in bad health and I can't get in touch with him. That's one of my favorite color combinations.

With what happened to your fuel pump you shouldn't trust the accuracy of the (in tank) fuel sending unit. They get crusted up to. If the gauge goes to different spots when the key is on maybe it's okay. Don't want you running out of gas.

77" 280z sluggish after ~3000rpm
It might be the front, AFM? It'll spit and sputter and buck under load. A lot of folks have done this tweak. I did mine when there was a Radio Shack in every mall. Cost me $5 and it runs like a top.

I've been reading about this guy for years but had no idea about this, I assume it's true but haven't checked. In 1972 he sets a record of 152 MPH at Bonneville in this car... Your saying $12k for a new driveway with those measurements? Not digging up the old asphalt and hauling it off? Thank you Charles, I've just guessed at the price of concrete. One of my neighbors with a smaller drive paid $15k for concrete but that included breaking up and hauling off the old concrete. I'm just going to wait on my Powerball winnings. For the time being it's gonna be patched and possibly sealed. If I do a good job the next owner's will buy the concrete.😁

Joles Asphalt 2.6 Google review Not enough crush and run then not enough asphalt. They used enough to make it level and look good for maybe a year. What I dug up yesterday was mainly dirt with very little stone under the 2" of asphalt. I got screwed dude. But when it started to show they were long gone. So now I get to fix it. They charged me $3,000 in '03 or '04 now another guy quoted me "around $10,000 but it'll be right when I'm done". I think it will do the same thing if I use asphalt but concrete...WOW that stuff has gone through the roof. My driveway is 20 to 25 feet wide and 125 deep. You could land an airplane on my driveway, the kids in the neighborhood think it's a skateboard park, I could put a Christmas tree up and have my own dragstrip. It's long and wide, concrete would be $20K

Today I broke my back it feels like. All the things I've done to the car aren't worth a flip when I can't back out of my driveway. So today I dug up some asphalt to save my oil pan and my exhaust from The Z Store.

How much for both sides? 🤭 Kidding around. It does seem simple but I would be concerned about the length to clear the slam panel when the hatch is closed. It would be very close without breaking the extensions when you shut the hatch. ????

I see now, any add on couldn't continue the water past the end of the hatch. Keeping mine waxed and dried asap is the better solution.

A young friend of mine like me back in the 80s cut the roof out of "hand me down from daddy" '75. It started folding up when he drove it. Had some angle iron welded on the bottom to firm it up. Got stuck on a speed bump at the local cruising mall. I'll never forget that, funny to me but he wasn't laughing.😬 Beautiful Z that was the fastest car I'd ever driven. Kind of a copper brown exterior with light brown interior. Then I drove another friends dad's Regal turbo. Holly guacamole! Life changing car.

@Chris Holt When you have time read about this cause of water rusting the slam panel at the hatch. You might think up a clip on and removable extension for our cars. I would be interested if you came up with something other than welding like @grannyknot did on one. I think about it when I wash my car and dry it off then not again. It's not too big of a deal anymore since no one drives in the rain or parks their car outside. You might sale a few though?

240z air fuel mixture adjustment
The RPMs should decease when lifting that piston, almost dying out. Lifting the piston disables that carb then you are running on the 3 cylinders the other carb feeds. That's what mine does anyhow. Try reaching in and lift the piston itself instead of pushing those pins down. Your needle height may be off from the rebuild with the needle height set screw? Remember raising and lowering is viewed from the bottom of the car. Turn the nuts towards the fender to lower the needles. Read the section on SETTING MIXTURE.
