  1. The window sticker that was in the glove box said $3,600 in 1972 for the base car. Spoilers and rocker stripes brought it to $4,000. I got it, not running because of crudded fuel tank clog up the filters, for $2,000 a few years ago. Hubcapped in my signature below. I've got about $5,000 in it now, the other picture with Rewinds.

  3. Would it be okay to mix Redline Gear oil 75/90 with MT-90 75/90 for my differential? I have half quarts of each left from previous changes and I want to change out the oil in a R180. Thanks for any replies, I haven't been able to find a definate answer searching the internet.

  6. My air cleaner has a bracket for the choke cables. I am guessing it's a 10mm head which I believe is a 8x1.25 metric bolt. I'm not aware of any screw type threads on mine but I could be wrong. You could try one of the three 10mm bolts that fasten the timing chain inspection cover on front of the head. They're about half an inch long so I don't think they would bottom out in the places your speaking of. Just a guess at what you need so be careful on over tightening them. Good luck.

  11. You should get a storage building dedicated just for Z parts. I have one with a bunch of other junk including a refrigerator out of a rental house that has all my small Z parts in it. I guess it's a little too late for your stuff now though.

  13. Thank you Mr Arnett! The caps look to be the same, just different sealing methods. I'll sleep good tonight now that I know the difference. Are you storing that one cover at the bottom of the river? Just kidding. Thank you for taking the time to show the difference to me/us. Cliff
  14. He's got carbs, no injectors. I do my valves cold too then come back and check them hot. One or two may need readjustment when hot. You will have different specs for a regrind than stock cam. Find those numbers first.
  15. Where do you mean for the clutch cable? Maybe the speedo cable at the rear on top of the bellhouse? The spark plug clips on the valve cover?

  18. That hose I plugged appears to go to the BCDD after looking closer. I think it is considered "ported vacuum"? That was a few years/beers ago when I did mine and a lot of reading and asking questions on classiczcars.com.
  19. Those hoses were changed from '77 to '78's. I rerouted mine to the '78's, it feeds the AAR with cleaner air if I remember right. Here's the way I ran mine after reading about that issue with the '77's.
  20. It's a weird looking nut locking clip similar to this but the ends curve inwards more.
  21. Reading about this I found that one of the caps would seal on a certain valve cover without an o-ring, it had an extra grove I believe? The newer valve cover was flat around the fill hole and needed the the o-ring. That sounds backwards now that I'm typing it. Does that mean the 2400 OHC valve cover needs the OIL cap or would the elephant cap work as well? Thanks for any input and Kats I'm sorry for the extra homework assignment. I'm not restoring or anything like that, just curious.
  22. I've always heard it called a warming plate for the AAR, like said above. When you delete the EGR that has to go as well. The thermal vacuum switch has hoses going to the BPT then to the bottom of the throttle body. When you swap that over you'll want to plug that hose, I put a small bolt in mine, circled in yellow in my picture. Curious, did you buy Geoff's aka rossiz system?

  25. Since I've been a member of this forum I've read the elephant cap was from winning an African Rally but now I see that that's wrong, thanks to @kats. After reading more maybe the oil was named after the Rally?
