Rear Drum Cover Removal?
Whichever one is closer. You can try rolling it on the ground but if don't have the original steelies with the windows all around your gonna have to jack it up and pull the tire off. Then get a straight steel something, l think I used a crow bar, wedge it in between the wheel studs the lugs go on and try to turn it to line up. It's a pain if they're stuck nice and tight. Probably be best to put the lugnuts on so as to not bugger up the threads. I'm using my phone so I can't help as well with pics like with my laptop. I can in the morning if you hadn't done it yet. Sorry. And I hope you can figure out what I'm trying to get across. Saturday is beer and football. LOL

Nothing to do with a Z
It's been a whole year since the surgery! Can hardly believe it, time flies when you're on the better end of healing. Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes, they worked. Next is a mid-foot fusion that I'm dreading but the docs said after a year with the knee replacement they could do it. I had planned a day of relaxing in the driver's seat of the 240 but it has rained like a cow pissing on a flat rock. Maybe tomorrow?

1975 280z Build
There was a post around that had someone replacing the guts of the old module with the new HEI but I cant find it. I might do that, but mount the box on the firewall or something. I like that it would appear more period correct. @EuroDat did that to his '77

Rear Drum Cover Removal?
That should be it in the red circle. I saw my OE aluminums the other day cleaning up my storage building and they still have the rubber plugs in them.

Nope. They're a pain without any lock screws.

L28 Intake Manifold Gasket Question
Look between 1st and 2nd spark plugs to see what head you have. Should be an E88 or N42, maybe N47? That will tell us what exhaust port shape you have and whether or not you have the injector notches. If it's an E88 you can use the 240 gasket. Fel-Pro has a universal diamond shape exhaust manifold gasket but it has the injector notches too. From what I remember it will work with carbs but I've never used one so maybe someone can tell us? If it's the OE E88 I would use the right gasket with round intake holes and square exhaust ports. I bought mine through Nissan dealership but zcardepot.com has them too.

You can get them for a 4-wheeler at your local motorcycle shop. They have those metal bands that work great instead of the e-bay ones that send you zip-ties.- saturday night music thread

Instead of saying "good morning" like normal I say "sigh". It's never good.- Odd Bolts in Balance Tube
I used basic brass plugs from Lowes. 1/4" and 1/8" for the balance tube. Also used thread sealant that I had from making a fuel rail out of aluminum with brass bungs. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51SF7HJG4AL._AC_UL320_SR194,320_.jpg- Transmission fluid change
To get my plug out I used a small pipe wrench and a bottle jack to loosen mine. Situated the wrench so I could get the jack under the handle then pumped the jack a few times and it loosened up.- Transmission fluid change
That's the speedometer cable leaking transmission fluid. Here's a thread on the seal that fixed mine and the Nissan P/N. I got mine from the local dealership they did have to overnight order it.- Left Inner Tie Rod for 240z no longer available
Not so much trouble when you know the way things work, eh?- Oil pan help??

I stole this cassette from my step-a s s hole when I was a kid. When cassettes where still off white colored, before the clear ones. I listened to it so much I still know every word to all the songs but this was my favorite.- Parts for Sale: 280zx Turbo Hood Vent
