  1. Funny you posted that. I traded front and rear Texas plates for the '72 Alabama plate. When I bought my house I found these in between the rafters of the garage. The man that owned the house also was a mechanic and I assume he pulled them off and just threw them up there. I knew the Tag Doctor would like to have them so I offered a trade. He jumped at the offer. He'll make some money and I got the tag I wanted for free, WIN WIN.
  2. I found a thread explaining the lead plug in my rear brake drum. It's there, you tell me why and what it's purpose is and I'll go by what you say.
  3. It's pretty simple. Take the hubcap off and line up the hole in the drum with a slot on the wheel. Insert a screwdriver and turn the wheel until your hand brake is tight when it's half way up. I've done it, should be super simple for you.
  4. That's opposite of what I ran into, needed the smaller one but nobody had it. End up coming from amazon.com Here's one from rockauto.com for $85 plus $25 core charge http://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/nissan,1973,240z,2.4l+l6,1209170,brake/wheel+hub,power+brake+booster,1884 And amazon.com, https://www.amazon.com/Cardone-Industries-53-5104-Brake-Booster/dp/B000RPLG60/ref=sr_1_3?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1469924662&vehicle=1973-67-2284-20-----14492------4-0&sr=1-3&ymm=1973%3Anissan%3A240z&keywords=brake+booster The one at amazon is free shipping and no core charge. I didn't do the math but I'd bet amazon is cheaper in the long run. They're sandblasted too or mine was, you'll have to paint it. $84.89 $25.00 $109.89
  5. And to think I was going to buy this one! UGLY
  6. Can't beat Mr Steve, he's a good 'un. Now I have another project to do myself, soak the fuse panel. Thanks for sharing that what all he did.
  7. Thanks to a fellow Alabamian I found out I can register my car using an old Alabama tag. If I've read the DMV right it's going to cost $10 and I won't have to renew it every year. So here's what I'll be sporting around on my 918 orange 240,
  8. It makes my day when I receive that sort of compliment, I actually provided pertinent information. Thank you Jim, we can have fun here in the States next week during ZCON. Also a big THANK YOU to @Chickenman, he's the one that popped out the part number right off the bat.
  9. Is Ms Blue bringing the suitcases, or will a Snap-On truck be following?
  10. Take 4 to 6 every 1 hours or as needed for pain
  11. And you can get to the adjusting wheel through the slots on the OE wheels without removing the wheel and tire just need a long flat head screwdriver.
  12. Mine had those lead plugs too. I googled that and found this, don't know if it's the truth but they are there for some reason. Re: brake drum plugs Early Zs (70>76) had the rubber plug to allow access to the starwheel adjuster. Later Zs (77>78) had a different cylinder and adjusting arrangement so that the outer rubber plug became unnecessary. But since all the drums were the same, it didn't pay to redesign for 77>78. The lead plug is for balancing.
  13. Somebody scored a good one there.
  14. Have you tried adjusting the BCDD? When I first bought my 280, as I approached a stop and pushed the clutch in the motor would die. After turning the bottom nut of that thing, can't remember which way know, the RPMs would slowly drop down to idle speed. Maybe something to look at?
  15. I love it, PORN & CEAS
  16. Awe come on! Please, can I do it again?
  17. I'm thinking he means you'd get a better deal at brew pubs with the Canadian dollar since our dollar is only $.75.
  18. I didn't weigh the clutch cover but the whole kit weighs 14lbs so I figure it weighs approximately 10lbs, so 20lbs total rotating mass? The stock flywheel weighs right at 23lbs plus the 10lbs of the cover so 33lbs total? I'll guess and say I took 10 to 15 pounds away. On my 2.4 that makes a difference, no idea on a 2.8. I've 6,000 a couple of times but I don't have the miles on it yet to feel comfortable redlining the motor. It took me a year to get it back in the car so jumping from one red light to the next makes me very happy. That is all that matters.
  19. I think about that every time I eat at a Chinese restaurant, it sure is good whatever it is.
  20. You can get Nissan still. $200 or so.
  21. That's funny, thank you.
  22. Wow Charles! I can't click "♡Like this". That's horrible and you have such nice looking fingernails considering all you do. I am humbled.
  23. I wish God would just whisper.
