Brass Valve Seats & Lapping
I think he used Manley seats on mine and said they are only a few dollars each. Black Dragon sales them too for around $5 per hole. The machinist can get them cheaper than you. My guy said they're the same as a chysler hemi exhaust I think. He had boxes of them.

What is the deal with this website?
Without my phone number he hasn't been able to repost my CL add. I think if you reply through that website he's got you. I pissed on him and called him a liar. Hadn't heard back so I'm guessing he could care less about helping Z owners connect to buyers. I worked on bourbon st. for 5 years and have heard and seen it all. Never wear new shoes on bourbon st, you'll get ripped off. Shiny white tennis shoes says "I'm a tourist and will fall for anything you say". If someone ask you for the time, keep walking, don't speak to them. You're pockets are getting picked by their partner that "accidently bumps into you". I saw it every night.

What is the deal with this website?
He's told me many different stories. My guess is he ask for a down payment or fee to hold the car then you get screwed. Drove me crazy wanting my local number. He has multiple numbers. There's something crooked going on, nobody repost your add to "help others looking for 240zs" for nothing. SCAMMER. Sellers beware!

1 too many in the family
I have 6 cars, tagged and insured. Too much to keep with in my opinion and I live in a pretty nice neighborhood, they're getting pissed now. At first it was funny having a car lot in my driveway. Not so much now. All I do is move cars around.

Question on oil pan gasket and also trany input shaft bearing
I've never done it but the oil pan can be removed without pulling the motor. You jack up the front after unbolting the motor mounts I think. There's a trick for the pick up tube workaround. Maybe someone will chime in? But it's out there, on the info web.

That's exactly what he's doing, reposting other peoples cars! Now he says he lives in Michigan and gave me another number, 3 total. I googled the last one and got this, http://240zforsale.com/category/united-states/alabama/ Friggin bastinge

Brass Valve Seats & Lapping
A redneck trick I learned is put the valve in an suck on the port opening to make sure it seals. You'll have a big ole black ring around your mouth but it works. Lap them with the straight compound then add some water to it to make it finer for the final lapping. You'll hear the difference. I took the suction cup off my lapping handle and found a brass fitting for it then chucked it up in my cordless drill. Made it alot quicker to get that smooth sound you want.

EGR and manifold removal tips-78 280Z
Remember Zed, heat from cast iron equals vapor lock potential. Just saying that. Headers clean up the engine bay too. The OE manifold does flow just as good from what I've read but $250 ain't bad for ceramic coated header. $.04 now.

Brass Valve Seats & Lapping
They look beat down. You should have them cut out and replaced with steel seats. I think I paid around $100 for my e31. What head is that? No protruding plug mound. Is it an n42?

EGR and manifold removal tips-78 280Z
See if you can find a n2 an intake, before egrs or n47 and a block off plate. I got mine for $40. I know your budgeting but msa header and 2.5" premium exhaust is $500 & you'll love it. It'll flow more air so you can open up the head's ports to match the gasket. Round them out or "bugle" shape the ports. More air moving through is always best. The motors are a air compressor more or less so the more flow the better. Stock is good for efi. They don't like mods because of the ecu stays the same. My $.02

1 too many in the family
I'm wanting to do a building and fill it with my tools. $25 an hour for using it. Very popular in bigger cities but we need one here too. I have people that come to my house with their weedeaters and cord, they pay me $10 to wind it on the bump feed head. Takes 2 minutes but I am sick of people banging on my garage door at 8am Saturday. I get still get lucky sometimes and bring home "Scully's catch of the day" Friday night. I'd rather stay in the bed than wrap cord.

Fuel tank repair
That's what I think as well. No coating is necessary for 20 years or so. The red kote I use is was for diesel fuel mainly, off road diesel has a lot of ethanol.

I know it Blue. I hate doing this but there's more around here I can get. I just got sick of my DD sitting in the 100 plus heat. Father's Day I went to my Dad's church, buttoned up and tucked in, tie and all. When I got in that 200 degree car I made my decision. When I can add on there's more down here in the South and they have know idea what they're worth. Ive got my eye on a nice #112 '72 for $3,000. I'm looking for land now to put a metal building on. Baby steps!

1 too many in the family
It has some surface rust, Florida car. The heater core was bypassed when I bought it, may just need a new valve and hoses. The dealer installed a/c hasn't been updated to 134a and I'm just trying to find a good owner. I NEVER sale, just hoard, so I'm not looking to make much money. I want my money back plus storage fees. Search "what's it worth" for the rust pictures. March 5, '16.

Fuel tank repair
I put Gorilla Taped over the ends of all my tubes coming out of the tank. After emptying the coating out I blew through them with around 90psi of air. Waited 5 or 10 minutes and hit them again to be sure. Worked good for me.

I replied back this morning at 6:30am and just now checked that inbox, no replies, so I think I scared him away. "Listen Closely!" you don't talk to someone selling something you want like that.

1 too many in the family
He lives in an apartment and his lan-line number has the exact toll free number. He starts the email by saying "listen close" that scares me a little, I worked for an attorney's office doing collections. I have a feeling for scams.

I've got a guy wanting my phone number and says he'll pay me $8,000 and I'm only asking $6,950. I google his phone number and it comes up Ontario. What's his angle here, I can "conversate [sic]" just as well through email. I don't get it, are there Nigerian princes in Ontario?
