  1. So the '70s are the ones without the flapper for winter/summer. Thanks, learned something today. 8^)
  2. Google "identifying 240z transmission"
  3. Air cleaner looks odd. Did the '71 have the heat riser hose attached to it?
  4. That could be the "rocky mountain tick". Those little bastards can wreak havoc on your immune system. Mowing yards I find about one a month crawling into my hair. My smart arse Dad gave me a Hartz collar a few years ago but it's actually pretty serious so LOOK & FEEL when you're under low limbs.
  5. Maybe that wasn't a mistake? Young girls like the coking. KIDDING EVERYBODY, THOSE DAYS ARE IN PAST! Pablo is dead.
  6. Mark do you not think if the floats are set and the valves working properly there would be a consistent flow of fuel circulating through the return line function of the fuel system? No fuel staying still long enough to "percolate"? That's my common sense thinking but that usually don't mean squat. Once again I'm done but am trying to help you figure something out. I've got a slab of beef ribs, a bone in ribeye plus two quarter dark meat chickens. 24 frosty bottles of beer and a booty call coming by later, after I do all the coking of course. Girls without kids don't cook but they make up for it in other ways. Hope to post in the morning, if not I'm dead from exhaustion or in jail. I can see it going either way.
  7. I tried putting a 5 blade zx fan on my 240 but it's offset is too different. I have a 280z radiator and two piece full shroud of a zx. Another thought is the splash pan. One of those and a good fan clutch pulls air like crazy sitting in my garage but once I get on the road I wouldn't expect it to help that much. Hang in there Mark and maybe you'll figure out his problem? He bought a California Datsun motor if I remember right. That dude would sale me garbage and I would make the trip to settle any issues I couldn't get satisfied. Just think how he would treat someone from South America?
  8. I measured from the bottom side of the lid, where the fuel would splash to. The top of that square boss on the outside of the float chamber magically lines up at exactly 23mm. Thanks @zKars for pointing that out. Google "240z float level classiczcars.com" then click IMAGES and you'll see it.
  9. Buddy has this young chick chasing him. It's not about money and he had his balls cut off. Maybe it's the toilet water cologne he uses? They have fun together though so I don't mind the age difference, this is Alabama.
  10. 911/928 FOR SALE signs.
  11. I set mine at 23mm below the lids from everything I read. Pulls like a tractor now even going up a mountain. Hopefully you are "there". 8^)
  12. I don't get it. It's hot as ever outside and I went for at least an hour this morning. My carbs are almost cool feeling. My efi 280 with the aluminum fuel rail feels sorta cool too, the fuel rail. I kind of think it has something to do with the fuel? When Alabama gas flows through aluminum it cools it down. My mercury outboard would have frost on it's carbs in the spring and fall. When I deleted the egr on my 280 an older mechanic said it needed the heat in the intake. Also said when he was racing 240s they put Christmas tree light bulbs around the carbs for the heat they created. Crazy to me why some people fight it and I've never had a problem with the six Zs I've owned.
  13. Correct me if I'm wrong but the electric pump was a '73 addition. Would that have anything to do with the flat top carbs? The only 240s I've heard of with the extra pump had triples or modified SUs. Supposedly the cam nose pump couldn't keep up the fuel needed. One guy I bought a z from said his Dad only turned on the electric pump when he put his foot down. Said that was a fond memory when his Dad said "flip the pump on!" they were about to run it up.
  14. My floats were bad off and the car was starving for fuel. Couldn't climb a hill and eventually got so bad it wouldn't go over 30mph. Had to gradually get to that speed. If you could put a glass filter before the oe fuel filter you can see trash from the tank and if it's not full, has air in it, your bowls aren't either. When the floats are right the filter will be full of fuel, at least on my car with a mechanical pump. Good luck.
  15. Done deal! I promise you I'll pack it as tight and secure as possible and FedEx was a few dollars cheaper plus they are more careful in my experience so we'll use them. I have a family cookout today but will get started on the packaging asap. I'll get it to FedEx Monday if they're open, some people are not working for the holiday but I'm pretty sure FedEx will be rolling. I'll pay and take a picture of the knobs I need. There's 3 on the heater control panel, I need two. Mine disintegrated but I do have the screws that hold them onto the slide levers. If you have two you could mail them with a check for shipping charges. PM me your mailing info. When I ship it I will scan the receipt and send that to you via a Private Message. It'll show the amount and the tracking number. Thank you. I'm glad to get this to someone that may actually use it. If you don't have the knobs that's no big deal, I can buy them later on. Thanks again Cliff
  16. Yeah that's the reason for the pics where they attach to the base. Do you want this stuff? I am willing to do my best to get it to you but if your on the fence lease let me know. I can donate it it locally. Like I said it's going to be approximately $1.00 per pound to ship it to your zip code. Cliff
  17. Pop it with a hot needle and you'll have a Texas flag.
  18. I was thinking Richmond, VA. but you're in Indiana, no free delivery. Oh well.
  19. I run into that with pinterest. Hate it.
  20. Jerry I spoke with my Mom a few minutes ago and she'll have to find out where but my nephew is going to Virginia after the 4th to do a job. We might get lucky and have him haul it to you? As soon as she finds out I'll let you know. I need something for my 240 too now than I think about it. Two hvac slider knobs. I have the screws in the slide levers now but those knobs disintegrated to small pieces of plastic when I first used them.
  21. Maybe with the enlarger I could fool some girls? That would only work online, sexting I think the kids call it.
  22. I'm already using one of the big ones to soak my grills two grates before cleaning. If somebody grew plants they would make good starter trays, I'm guessing.
  23. MSA has a nice seatbelt for the early 240s. Motor sports auto, google "240z msa"
  24. My zip is 35901 if you want to check around shipping for maybe a lower rate. Cliff
  25. There's a pack of 8x10 something wrapped in black plastic in the black paper safe. Another pack of 8x10 white sheets in the yellow box with 4 shelves, some kind of storage container?
