  1. Is that the only difference? if you welded up vent holes on newer quarters you've got the same thing? i've got a jdm fairlady fiche. i will check that number. Edit According to the fairlady fiche they fit the L20 model S30 (Chuki - 10/71-8/75) Eng: L20 So yes, a very old set of quarters.
  2. Lots'o work there. 78100-E4100 is the part #
  3. Ah ha... we flushed a hoarder out of his lair... Lets make a deal.... You had better sell them to me before futofab starts stamping them and their value gets a 50% haircut.
  4. Isn't Alberta only 5% duty tax? Wasn't NAFTA supposed to help?
  5. Yes its the sellers option. I was going through all the international shipping options in my setup and i must have selected it by accident. You know the last 3 people i've sold to are international and they've all had me send their package to freight forwarders in the usa. Lots of people have gotten burned by this and use the forwarders. I think many ebay sellers don't know how to do the customs forms and they put in an inflated value of good and the buyer gets a huge duty tax when he goes to pick it up. I just sent 2 speedometers to Denmark for 40$ shipping using first class usps. I put used, broken, parts only. Technically this fit the description.
  6. 5 more days dec 16. He says these were in a garage. Collecting dust for 30+ years. He doesn't ship international but thats not a problem. There are freight forwarders that can ship international. But this guy says each quarter is 30 kilo's. Whoa, that must be some crate he put it in. Yea the last set of frame rails that sold a couple years ago. I bid on them but they went for a crazy price. 6 or 700 a piece.
  7. The last set of NOS factory nissan quarters left on the planet. http://page19.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/x428741289 http://page19.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/x428741293
  8. Oh heck yea. I see futofab makes metal quarters for the 510's. So he's got the tooling just needs the dies. I was thinking i'de have to wait until metal printers are in body shops and they just print up a new quarter panel in the year 2055.
  9. How do you attach these to the car? glue them on? That can't be a good solution if your quarter is rusted in key structural spots. I've been out of auto body work for a very long time.
  10. NO excuses. Simple fix....
  11. He was parting out the car and sold me the seatbelts also. They have a date of 1977. There have been other auctions too with the wrong description. My favorite was the LD28 crank. Everyone cancelled their bids when he replied to the question if there was a V07 stamped on it. And yes... you can probably say that not all V07's had that stamping 日本のものは見た目は同じだが、違う。 emptor cavete
  12. You sure like to argue your point. Fact is you can't tell if a car is a s31 just from a picture. The answer is either yes or no.
  13. Yes but how can you tell the difference? I think you're just soely using the auction description. My latest aquisition from yahoo auctions is a 180 kph speedometer that was advertised as an S30 speedometer.
  14. I googled fpr and the description sounded like just a fancy type of fiberglass. A polymer resin and a reinforcing material mixed in. I've never worked with the stuff.
  15. This is splitting hairs but you brought it up. So how can you tell just by looking at the cars exterior that its an S30 and not an S31? Btw i was pulling your chain about Gumma. Hey i just noticed. The filename on this picture is S31. Now you're pulling my chain.
  16. What do they look like from the rear? Do they have the 260-280 style tail lights or do they have the 240z style tail lights?
  17. Ran across this today. I couldn't find whole quarters from tabco so i googled and found these. http://www.rhdjapan.com/marugen-shoukai-rear-quarter-panel-set-nissan-fairlady-z-s30-s31.html These are made in Japan so quality should be good. Only problem is they're made for the fairladys smaller bumpers. Perhaps no problem for the 240z's but the 280z need work to fit bigger bumpers. The S31 quarters would be for the 260-280z style tail lights. They sell them as a set. At current exchange rates that 346 usd each. Thats before shipping however. Thought i'de pass this along since aftermarket suppliers on these old rust buckets are drying up. They sell new whole doors and fenders too. Material is fiberglass http://www.rhdjapan.com/search/model/nissan_fairlady-z/car/nissan/category/exterior_fenders-and-doors/?p=1 The fiberglass body suppliers here in the states seem like there here today, gone tomorrow. Are there any reliable ones with good quality in the usa?
  18. What are these mythical beasts they call s31? I've heard of them but never seen one in the wild. I know they exist....
  19. Yea i know just teasing you. Let me tell you my tale of crank piracy.... I picked up one on yahoo japan auctions for 200 bucks thinking it would pay for my seat upgrade on the flight back being the cheap ba$tard that i am. After hauling that heavy ba$tard around and to the airport was not really worth my effort. On top of that I had to build a crate for it for shipping too. It destroyed the king size suitcase it was in too. Suitcases don't like a concentrated heavy metal object. -1 wifey point on that one. Disregard this cautionary tale if you're young and full of energy!
  20. Gumma is in okinawa
  21. I'm surprised they're not completely rusted away. Maybe the jungle saved them from severe rust. S31's but still collectible. If you want to buy these gems in the rough, I need to collect a finders fee. http://page4.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/d180730728
  22. Have maxima diesels gotten that rare? That is one rough car. This one doesn't run but its probably just the battery. Also diesel fuel is kinder to the fuel system than ethenol gas if the car has sat for a long time.
  23. Somehow my shipping options changed and this damn thing took over. What a nightmare for the international buyers. Its slow shipping and you have no control over which carrier is used. Tracking number didn't work and buyer pays what seems like more than necessary customs duties. For Austria they wanted 65$ duty on a 265$ item.
  24. Wow, shipping to Denmark is 2x the price as Germany from US. Looks like nobody wants the 77-78 speedo. I guess it will be my new wall art
