I was wrong I do not have the correct bracket and am in the process of looking for the correct one now to hold the receiver dryer. I have located the correct receiver dryer and have everything else except this bracket.
  2. Yeah...Maybe a video...or a recap of how it went with dyno results...
  3. I know what I will be ordering this September
  4. @9teen7t240z Let me know about the 240Z tail light center strips It looks like you would have to start a new thread to incorporate a poll to guage the interest of these items.
  5. I Like Arnie's thought here. I'm still going to search for Original brass to use with the plastic on my new caps that are on order. But until then I'm not going let my Z sport the updated ones from MSA. Better then plain Plastic or this ones that Say Datsun or Z that look so bulky.
  6. Either Way I ordered 6 caps today. Enough to have a spare.
  7. Noticed this over the weekend on MSA's Site. They are offering the correct caps now. Motorsport! Pacific Tire Valve Stem Cap, 70-77 240Z-260Z-280Z - The Z Store! Nissan-Datsun 240Z-260Z-280Z-280ZX-300ZX(Z31/Z32)-350Z-370Z Parts
  8. Personally I love seeing these photo's because it's not a finished product. It's potential. You can look at it see what's missing and what can become of it. I know where to find a couple 280Z's and a ZX in central IL salvage yard. Not my style but I still plenty of parts left to part off them or even bring them back to life for someone.

Upgraded mine to a custom metal mounted box that holds my HD radio CD Player. The old 8-Tracks were glovebox mounted as well.

psendo can you upload a photo of the bracket and the Dryer?

Sweet, I have that bracket then. Just need to find the dryer. With the previous owner that this car had it's amazing how complete the a/c system actually was. The rest of the car not so much but that's what made this car such a great scavenger hunt. can you tell me if the bracket was bare metal or painted? If I take it to bare metal I'll engine clear coat it to keep the shine.

can anyone confirm if the mounting bracket was similar to the one that holds the coil to the other inner fender but this time used to hold the Dryer vertical? any pictures of the correct dryer and mounting bracket?

that and besides the hoses you would be missing the condenser (mounted in front of the radiator behind the horns.) The compressor from A-R-A was mounted on the passenger side front of the engine by a mounting bracket that wrapped around the front of the engine block. looks like you only have the parts that were mounted inside the car and not the parts under the hood.

@Stanley that part is the evaporator mounted under your glove box. I'm talking about the cylinder that mounts to the inner fender that psdenno is referring to.

Does anyone know who the manufacturer was for the Receiver/Dryer used with the A-R-A dealer installed A/C system? I believe the original did Not have a switch mounted on top of the Dryer unit like what was used on the 1974 and up Nissan/Datsun installed units. Looks Like I have everything but this item as the Prev owner removed it for a much smaller barrel style in-line Dryer. Does anyone know what unit was used in the Dealer installed kits of 1970-1973? Almost done adding the dealer installed A/C components back to my car for vintage 05/72 240Z but am missing the dryer. Any suggestions. Currently I am installing more for the look and to keep the car as a vintage 1972 appearance and not looking to hook up the Compressor belt for functionality. Does anyone have the correct dryer that they are not using any longer?
  17. It just seems like the ac should not rest on the lower radiator hose or touch it at all for that matter.

Iv'e mounted one in mine in December. Looks pretty nice. I like the option to run the the luggage straps through the loops on the bar for larger items being hauled in the back. Also anything in the back wont fly into the front upon sudden braking. Really easy to install.
  19. Re-installing my vintage A-R-A A/C unit that was on the car when I purchased it 8 (wow how time flies) years ago. When I replaced the hoses I remember the original cloth braided hose was pretty beat up looking. With Re-installing the a/c compressor I am seeing that there is a clearance issue with the rear of the compressor and the lower radiator hose. The hose appears to be pushed as far as it will fo on each the lower radiator and the engine connection pipe. Any suggestions that don't involve leaving the a/c unit off the car? This is the correct hose for my 1972 240Z as it came from MSA. 05/72 240Z Taz0162
  20. this hose came from MSA and matched up exactly with the stock rubber hose.
  21. Has anyone else experienced the issue with the A-R-A Air conditioning system with the York Compressor where the compressor itself touches lower radiator hose (part where it exits the engine) and also the pulley appears dangerously close to where it connects to the lower radiator? I have new cloth braided hoses that I do not want to mess up. I have heard of zip tying the hose out of the way but that should not be the answer as It wouldn't have been done that way 41 years ago. If others have experienced this what was done to rectify it? I am re-installing this vintage system so removing it is not an option.
  22. My spare is out as well. Filled it with a PyleDriver sub-woofer (Sub-woofer box looks like a spare tire) with some slight modification as the tire was wider then a Z car tire. I'd say build it yourself or try to find one of these sub-woofer boxes and modify it. Not sure how easy they are to find now as I believe they were discontinued a couple years ago. But you might find one cheap if they blew the sub-woofer as all you need is the tire shaped hardened plastic shell.
  23. I want...No...I Need to see how this takes a 240Z down a drag strip. Not something I would do to mine but love how people push theirs further and further.
  24. I have gotten a couple things from them in the past but have also experienced checking out and then a couple days later being notified that my order had been cancelled (Happened again 2 weeks ago) due to the item no longer being available from Nissan.
  25. If we are talking a quick (60 min time limit) one person job then Taillights, Valve Covers, Radio, Carbs, check glovebox and tool box for anything of interest, bumpers, hubcaps, spare tire, Hatch with glass, corner windows (easy to remove) center console, dash (if in good shape but prob is not especially if it's in Illinois) headlight scoops, Hood (if you can remove and transport it yourself), hose clamps and Engine wire clips, Shift knob, steering wheel, and tool doors. And if there tie hooks. These are my quick grab get out items I would hit up.
