  1. Today I worked on the door hinges some I took them apart last year bead blasted them and painted the pieces. When I reassembled them I damaged some of the paint. Especially where I had to drive the pins in. The upper hinges had an area that I missed getting painted. I worked on touching those up today. Scuffed the with 400, degreased and painted. The upper hinges got better The lower hinge still didn't get colored all the way. I shot three lighter coats on the pins and had all kinds of drips but couldn't get them to cover. Not messing with them any more for now. If it really bothers me when it's assembled. I will touch it up with a brush. I also blocked the inside of the hood and shot a coat of primer into the center section
  2. Well it's been a little over a year and I am trying to get moving again. I have 15 months until Zcon Atlanta... This is the way the car currently sits I ordered $200 in bushings from Courtesy yesterday. I need to start working on getting the wheels back under it. Finding all the hardware is an issue. I need to try to figure out which bolts go where. I don't know that I have them all plated either
  3. I made myself a set of seam opening pliers last year. I tried to find a set for months but finally gave up and saw a thread on another forum where I guy had made a pair. I don't know if I posted these or not... I did this work last year, I took the rear support out of one of the fenders. There are a couple of little tack welds in the corners and you have to remove the upper fender bracket. Once you remove the spot welds and the bracket. You can open the seam just a little bit and the inner fender support comes right out. Then you can get it really clean and repair the pin holes in the fender inner and outer All rebuilt The fender still needs to be finished
  4. Yes, yes. That is a dangerous place to live...

I believe that gets the prize for rustiest I've ever seen...
  6. Thanks for the response. I am sure there is a market here for these. I don't think they would be overly hard to source. I don't want poly... I agree with Namerow, the engineers didn't add the funny washers for no reason
  7. but you're working on that!
  8. @Joseph@TheZStore @James@TheZStore http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/10-2261 The Motorsport store shows these bushings but they have been out of stock for a while. Are you expecting more or working on an aftermarket source for these? Thanks, Charles
  9. I was just trying to get pointers from a professional shop. Interesting how they taped EVERYTHING. They also have the hood propped up some but already mounted. I also thought it was interesting they sprayed it all apart. I prefer to do that but I have been told it can cause color variation between panels. A good painter probably doesn't have that as much as me...
  10. Had they already sprayed the engine bay and the underside of the hood?
  11. True Most of the roadside services here will only tow you 50 or 100 miles. Your haul is a little further than that...
  12. I wonder if some protectant would help after the procedure to prevent it drying out again?
  13. Roadside assistance will be of limited help if you seize a wheel bearing or lose an alternator or any number of the other possibilities. They will help get you off the road and tow you to a mechanic, but you won't know an honest mechanic in the area. Also parts probably won't be readily available so you will have to get a room and wait... Best idea is to rent or borrow a car trailer and tow it home. Very little risk that way.
  14. Those can be a pain to get to stay. You may have to mess with the steel bracket teeth to get them to stay on..
  15. As an aside I would be leery of trying to drive any vehicle like this home unless it was under 30 miles. The car would have to be really pristine for me to try it. I wouldn't try it with this car. I really hate breaking down on the side of a really hot interstate and hoping you don't get hit by an idiot messing with their smart phone...
  16. I thought there was a screw in the back of the chrome trim and the black plastic finishers snapped into the chrome trim?
  17. Yeah the $400 blind side is outrageous. I have never used them because of all the negatives I had heard about them. I post fewer pictures but I am unwilling to put up with the frustration. $20 a year is more reasonable in my opinion. You can host whole websites for a lot less than $400 a year...
  18. North Carolina is probably not too bad but I have found North East DMV's to be really difficult! It would be easiest to call the dmv you want to register it through and have them tell you what they want. I have done that several times when buying cars out of state. Here in SC your regular auto policy will cover you for 30days after the purchase of a car but that probably varies by state
  19. I am on a hunting forum that doesn't host pictures like Mike does here. I suspect all of their pictures are gone too. They were always carrying on about the Photobucket @Captain Obvious you could always down load them here and Mike will make sure they last

  21. I love all the notes and parts hung where they go! I should do that...
  22. I don't know that correct reproductions are available. You could buy stainless and never have to worry about them again...
  23. The rear bumper is bolted in three sections, center bar and two ends. No need to cut it!!! The middle section is fairly short. If their tanks can't handle the center bar then they are not a very professional setup! If they can't handle the three pieces find someone else! Not only that, when they reweld it there is no way to protect the new welds adequately, since they can't plate it!
  24. My best guesses. Head issues, bad temp gauge. Did you bore the engine? If the cylinder wall thickness gets too thin you can over heat problems...
  25. Missed that. Good. Lacquer is easy to work with and very forgiving but really not used much anymore because of lack of durability...
