Anyone in Oz used Victoria British?
Thanks for all the comments guys. I ended up going for Midwest Z mainly due to the great customer service and also because the aussie dollar is healthy at the moment. Ended up ordering some other bits and bobs as well. Thumbs up for Chloe.

Sydney Z Car Club?
yep, its the same one as handley's car. There is one left in stock. I made an impulse buy. The spoiler is a lot 'softer' than I imagined, definitely needs some form of reinforcement.

Sydney Z Car Club?
the one he described to me is made of urethane, so I would imagine it is the same as Handley's car since I've only seen Xenon make that style in urethane. These are the same spoilers as in the MSA and Victoria british catalogs. Allzparts also mentioned they used to get the fibreglass non brake duct ones in from xenon, but they didn't have provisions to install indicators so he doesn't stock those anymore. I would imagine the pricing on these would still be above 300 if he got them in specially. Will report back tomorrow...

ah LONG! that would explain it. :stupid: I have been in contact with chloe at midwest, and she mentioned they used precision seals as well? [199 at midwest] how much does midwest charge for the oem seals?

I am about to order a weatherstripping kit and some other rubber pieces from them. Since they don't seem to have an email, I tried to ring them but got a message for a Wong motor company instead- my catalogue must be out of date or something. Just wanted an indication on what they charge for "handling" and shipping. Anyone ordered their rubber kit before? it is significantly cheaper than anything out there. $179 US. If all else fails, I may just buy it all from midwest Z who are a tad more expensive but have much better service.

Sydney Z Car Club?
I just spoke to warren at allzparts in Sydney. And apparently they DO stock the xenon front airdams. Specifically the one with brake ducts. I'm going tomorrow to check it out and pick up some other bits and pieces. Price is $375.

Stock or Racing Seats
I've got a Recaro sp-a and another fixed back recaro from a rally car that is too old to have a model name that can be remembered. I used to have a pair of sparco Evo's from a previous car but unfortunately their shoulder wings rubbed against the door cards no matter how much we fiddled about with the mountings. The recaros are significantly snugger and less padded / less comfortable. But then again, the whole seat with side mounts weighs less than 5kg! The hard part is mounting the buggers.

Beautiful Watanabe's on ebay
those kobe seiko wheels on the yahoo auctions site at the moment have a large gash/rip on the back side end. They are in fairly poor condition which may explain why noone has bidded on them even when they are "only" 40000yen. These wheels on the other hand popped up on yahoo the other day... I had always wondered how much these "sakura" style wheels were actually worth. I nearly fell off my chair when I saw the asking price... 270000yen for 2! 14x8 I still want them.

I have heard you can get the urethane front spoilers in question at the Z car workshop in Queensland. They get it from Victoria British. the US rrp is about $170 before shipping. You can also get the type without the brake ducts. nixcars tells me that Alan Stean sells em for about $400? I was going to order one fairly soon.

In search of interior bits
hehehe thats an idea! Whilst on the subject of interior trim, anyone used Gtrim in padstow for their Z's? They are a sponsor of the sydney z car club and apparently offer a good price to members. I should have some prices emailed to me in the next few days. free pickup and delivery too!

In search of interior bits
Looking for some parts to satisfy rego for my 71 240z: namely: * door cards- out of a 240 or 260 - not fussy on condition * centre console and heater panel- ditto * the little fiddly bent wires that connect the door handle to the door locks inside the door! Cheers, Vincent

header options
fujitsubo old car series. just another option if you want to spend more $$. I would also recommend some form of ceramic coating* from memory the local exhaust shops quote about 3-400 dollars for exterior coating on a set of headers. *ok the pic didn't work too well. but here is the website: http://www.fujitsubo.co.jp/mc-prod/psrs-v.php3?id=00000090

Wantanabe Price?
I was hoping to eventually secure a set of 9.5's and 7.5's. these are actually 8.5j. This way I could interchange the 8.5 front and rear depending on what I was doing with the car. And yes, I was planning to run flares. It was a bit of guesstimation on my part as to how well they would fit, but hopefully they should be ok under ZG flares on the front. They might be a middle of the road for the rear though. *If anyone sees a set of 9.5j's let me know! Chris, I have started weights training in preparation for these wheels.

Places to buy and see Z stuff in Japan
Wow, thanks for that information Chino. I was only told that it was a fairly small town which had recently become 'trendy' due to snowboarders and the like. Looking forward to seeing Japan from a local's point of view. The last time I went, I stayed in Shinjuku briefly and spent half my time figuring out how to get from place to place.

Wantanabe Price?
I paid someone to get the wheels anywhere they could find them in japan. The first set they found happened to be on yahoo auctions. They send back a shipping container to Australia every month or so.

Wantanabe Price?
that was only for the 2. You then have to add on the costs of shipping, gst, brokerage fee, import duty, customs etc...to get it into australia and it becomes a hell of a lot more than 500. The seller was also selling a matching pair of watanabe's: 15x7.5 +8 which were in perfect condition. I believe they went for around 34000 yen. Now I just have to hang out a bit longer and find a set of 15x9.5's. From what I've seen on yahoo auctions, most of the watanabes ,ssr's in the more desirable sizing/offset etc go for around 50000yen per pair. I am also partial to the negative offset ssr mk3's but they often go for even more money than the watanabe's.

Places to buy and see Z stuff in Japan
<print!> Thanks a tonne for the list of workshops. Hope you don't mind me hijacking your thread zr240, but the info in this topic could be very helpful for fellow Z pilgrimages to the motherland. Apparently, I will be based in a place called Yamagata, which is near Sendai- 2 3/4 of an hour north of Tokyo. We will be travelling pretty much all over the country. Fortunately I may have the benefit of a friend who can speak japanese, albeit one who has zero interest in cars. I was also interested in any racing events or motorsports festivals which occured in June. To be even more precise, a historic racing event which featured the spirit garage s30z racing against other like minded vehicles. I will most likely be doing this trip again next year with less time constraints. When do you think is the best time to head to Japan in regards to Z related activities? Cheers once again, Vincent

240z front lip and rear boot spoilers
I'm going to try out the 93 honda civic front strut brace mod as detailed in another thread on here. I just happened to have one lying around the garage acting useless, so i'll see if it actually fits. [i think the generic brands are around $150 ] Zcar workshop should have them as well. In sydney, im sure stewart wilkins would have strut braces. Cusco also make front and rears for about 300 bucks each. Are you going to have a weld in cage?

240z front lip and rear boot spoilers
Are you from NSW or Queensland? you're itsnotagsr from PF aren't you? Zcarworkshop is in queensland- you probably may want to run into him at some stage of your targa preparation. http://www.zcarworkshop.com.au/ Don't have pics of the spoilers in question handy on me.. but there is a big thread about them in the archives somewhere.

240z front lip and rear boot spoilers
I am unofficially selling my unused fibresports front spoiler if you're interested.$100 . They cost $160 from fibresports. same style as the red car in the banner on the top of this page. I think you can also get the urethane msa spoilers for about 400 bucks from the Z car workshop. You are probably looking for the spook type front lip additions though, and I don't know who sells those in Australia.

bump to the top, since I will be staying in a small town 2 hours south of Tokyo for a month around July.
