Wow, I seem to remember getting my license like it was only a few years ago. Not many of my friends died from being young and stupid... but, some of them did end up in the ditch a few times ! Anyway, it must be a great feeling to raise a child to the point of their own independence. In a way, I'm sure it's also disappointing as well because they are no longer that little child you were able to hold in one hand. I remember everything my dad taught me about driving to this day. Hi all, Does anyone know if I can recharge one of the red Optima batteries? I heard that once they are dead... they are dead (ie: cannot be recharged). Is this true? Anyone have experience with these batteries?

To get the most accurate speed measurement, buy one of those portable GPS units and set it to speed measurement mode. It will give you appropriate speed measurements (mph / kmh) and is very accurate.

If the car is in good condition, I'd say keep the L-series engine. The V8 swap will require some uni-body modification and bracing to handle the added torque. So, if you have matching numbers, you should definitely keep it stock. A good candidate for a V8 is a car without matching numbers, IMHO. m
