  1. Alrighty, Arne, sounds good. Let me know.
  2. Do you happen to know when the auction ends?
  3. I live in Pomona, but its so big that West Covina is one city over! I am willing/able to pick it up for you if you want
  4. Welcome to the club!
  5. Welcome to the club! Nice to see you bringing that Z back to shape as I can see what the salt has done to the poor car. Good luck on your restoration and keep posting pictures of your progress
  6. I think if someone is willing and/or able to save that 1970, that would be grand. If I remember correctly the build date was 9/70. It is actually red underneath the flat black. It is all there except for the hatch lid. Just thought it is a shame to see such an early car go to waste!
  7. Ecology- Rialto, California: Today I hit the yard again... looking for a vented hood off of a 280z... did not have luck finding one in good shape. Found a few 280z's (one a 2+2) like I am used to, but I was very saddened to see a 1970 240z in the yard (first pic)! HLS30-10460... It has mostly been picked through, though the body is straight. I thought all 1970's had the "2400" valve cover? This one had the regular "Nissan OHC". Vin numbers are in the picture names, as is my custom.
  8. Very nice, congrats! Getting deals is always awesome. I picked up a decent center valance for my 240 for $8! What are you going to do with the rest of the car
  9. That's strange since my 240z is 904 white. The only other code I saw was for white was 215 for "8/75" and on. http://www.zhome.com/History/colors.html
  10. Congratulations, sounds like it is going to be a good show full of nice cars. Make sure to get lots of pictures
  11. Does anyone know if a choke cable that feels still can be salvaged? The 1973 I saw at the yard had the cable but it felt stiff when trying to pull it back. If it can be salvaged and put to use I might be able to get if for Tony.
  12. I am no expert, but I use that hook to hang my seatbelt, since my '72 does not have fancy retractible seatbelts...
  13. Hey AJ, I went back for the antenna with the pointy end, it seems intact by I know they are notorious for breaking and parts to rebuild are hard to come by. They actually both had them, but the grey one had the mast off of the main body. I went back to get the tail lights off of the orange one, but as I got there someone was walking away with them... FWIW: The Orange is HLS30-132059 and the Grey is HLS30-26075.
  14. Hello All, Pick-A-Part Ontario: I went to the yard again to get minor things and saw a new 240z (built: 11/72) and one that had been there a while (built: 3/71). Both were very fruitful cars. The orange one had a complete power antenna and a reclining mechanism cover with the screw holes intact, but it had a crack in the middle. Are any of those worth saving?
  15. It also rained down here in southern California where its turning out to be a really wet year. I know the people on the east coast are not doing very well either, so I shouldn't complain of a few drops.
  16. Ok, I just got off the phone with my local Nissan dealer parts guy and he looked up the number provided by AZ-240z, and he said all it said under the description was hose wire clip. Also he told me that he could not order it and that all the other nissans order from the same source so it may be NLA. He suggested getting one second hand or an after-market replacement and then apologized for not being able to help me with my "510". If anyone is able/willing to reproduce this part, I could try to remove mine and send it in to get specs etc.
  17. Indeed they become very brittle, as I have unsuccessfully tried to remove one off of a junk Z. Since Randy (rtaylor) told me that the piece was rare, I have been hesitant to remove mine as to not break it. Has anyone tried to order one recently, or if NLA, would this be an easy piece to reproduce?
  18. This is a really neat part, I actually saw one of these on '71 z at the junkyard today so it must have been a part on the early Z's. Are there any mechanical advantages to having this part? My heater core is currently bypassed, but the hose loops where the 3 way pipe is... Would I need to replace the 3 way pipe to bypass the heater core?
  19. I agree with BadDog, if the '73 is like the '74 260z it will be on the passenger side. I only say this because I have seen Vitamin Z's 260z. Since goes through the passenger side, I am not sure if they need a little longer cables or not. I am sure another Z expert has the answer.
  20. Indeed, that orange '73? is complete and worth saving. The 2 next to that one have been on CL for a while, I guess the owner doesn't want them to be crushed which is good.
  21. Hello and welcome to the club! I can not help you with your first question, but I can tell you that in California all cars 1975 and earlier don't have to be tested for emissions anymore, thats why people buy these early cars and drop carbureted V-8s and other not so environmentally friendly things. So you can actually take it off unless you want to replace your smog equipment just to have it functional and keep the Z original, you can try the classifieds here or maybe even craigslist. I hope that is of some help to you!
  22. Try this thread, where Randy fixed his up: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?29484-D-Hubcaps&highlight=hubcaps+D
  23. Alright AJ, just let me know.
  24. Hey AJ, These were the fasteners that I had in a small plastic bag in my garage. I got some more hose clamps off of an extra gas expansion tank that I bought. The screws on the top left are all 6mm, not sure the length but I do know that the top 2 are from the arm that holds the hood open. The rest of the bolts I am not sure of, probably "extra parts" I had left over when putting everything back together. The quarters on the hose clamps are for size only! Unless you really need them... Let me know if any of these will work for you.
  25. Hey AJ, if it is any help to you, I can look for fasteners and hose clamps at the junkyard. What kind did you have in mind? Let me know.
