That is an idea for sure, but I would love to fully re-connect the system. Anyone know exactly where the 2 green wire ends hook up to under/near the dash? 1 to fuse and 1 to light or to a cluster based upon Kats good info? KATS, do you have a higher res of photo you took of the actual parts/wiring? -

Wow, great info here and nice job! I struggle with wiring, so can you tell me where exactly the G and GB wire run ends connect to under the dash? Looks like diagram shows 1 to fuse and 1 to power/ 12v? -
I too have similar problems, and gave up after many hours...anyone know of someone in FL who can work on tachs/electrical challenge for the early Z's?

This is great info, thanks all. One question...on the original wiring of the 4 wire tach on a '72 Z, where is the "12V" wire connected to? (my wire is yellow/redstripe)

My Z exterior project is complete...but my skill level for interior work is not as solid as I thought! Anyone know of a good place who restores interiors in Florida, pref South FL? Cheers!

Thanks for the advice, I will check the timing setting. As far the Vette, I haven't seen it but will keep an eye out.

Hi- I have a 1972z, and there is a Allison XR700 Electronic ignition with a CraneCams HI-6 Discharge ignition with auto sequence rev limiter in my car, it was installed before I bought the car. The tach is not working, and I was wondering where does the tach connect to with this system. THANKS@

this was previously installed, and not my forte, but it is a 1972, and there is a Allison XR700 Electronic ignition with a CraneCams HI-6 Discharge ignition with auto sequence rev limiter. Hope that helps.

I have been working on my Z for almost 2 years now, and what an experience! I am getting it back to really good condition. It has an electronic/push button start, and the tach is not functional. Anyone know where the tach should be hooked up to? Thanks!
