I want to see the wrecking yards full of them so I can scoop them all up for cheap and bring them home....only to revive each and every one in order to keep as many of them on the road and original as possible. I would keep many aside to sell to ITS guys to keep them in winning racing history but keep them out of the clutches of butchers grafting massive wings and farty exausts to them. nothing hurts me more than to see these cars turned into a 6 X 6 cube of recycled metal.

You will have no problem mounting the 260 dash in the 280. There aren't any differances that I came across in bolt patterns when I compared my 78 dash to my 74... I think either escanlon or 2many can comment about what products they recommend on dash preservation

hardware stores have been known to carry these. I also have found them on the help racks at auto parts stores.

I guess I just haven't been in the catalogs that much lately. It just ain't right man :sleepy:

Is it me or did their prices skyrocket on some items?? 160.00 for a fender? I paid a hundred a piece for the ones on the 260 not too long ago...

Thanks 2 many! I remember years ago I swapped doors on my 78 2+2 for a set of 75's. After much care hanging my gorgeous 50 dollar set of doors, I went to close the door and it bounced right back at me.

KMACK is correct!!!! Substantial rust along the rocker. Bring it on! I'll see your rotted rockers and raise you no firewall, floors and inner fender well. Honestly though, rockers 39.99 a piece, are easily cut out with an air chisel, and straightforward enough to MIG in place. Post some pics!

sorry If I was vague...I mean the door catches. I have a set of 78 doors and I need to know if they will work on a 76. The catches were changed however I am not sure when!

if the door latches on a 76 280 are the old or newer style found on the 77/78 cars

I don;t beleive there is a place to mount the 280 fuse block on the passenger side of the 240.

I do a host of B&P's for a lot of people. I'm also a taper so I spread alot of tunes around!

actually if I read it right the bench top one was 535.00. I did a search on google and came up with some informational discussions on using the wheel. I'm thinking the bench top model may be just the one that would be perfect. This thing would make some real nice inner fender well patches and under the batter tray replacement. Be nice to get away slightly from the sheet metal brake and shot bags. The first time I saw jesse James use an english wheel to make a gas tank I was hooked. HS30-H...those prices are frightening! I have a subscription to "Practical Classics" and I am always looking at UK prices for tools. Some of the stuff is much cheaper over there but the shipping is what gets yah. I priced the full size model of the wheel, just about three g's.

If I'm reading that right, 535.00 for the unit isn't bad at all. I can;t see that I would need anything bigger than that for the repairs that aren;t covered by replacement panels. I have def bookmarked that site! Thanks 2 many!

there is no stopping the mullett who owns a welder, some spare parts and a few cans of beer. Haven;t we all seen the pic of the 4X4 280?

2many hit it on the head. This would make my job much more enjoyable for sure. The only one I have ever seen other than plans on ebay was in the 1500 range. That's a little steep on the budget right now, however they are hard to find for sale because they are still very widely used.

You CA guys better hope that I do not win the lottery. I can promise all of you this....:devious: There will not be a Z to be had from the average Joe. I will buy every last one of them to be brought back to the massive warehouse I will acquire here on the east coast and then one by one, pump out fully restored cars. I will not stop at having just threee
